What other things can be used? its 2.5m long so not too keen paying for rocks from garden centres (at this stage anyway)

Fred
i got a bit from taupo over the weekend got, apparantly if you set them in boiling water and then cold water it helps absorb water then they sink. So anyone know if its safe to put pumice in the tank? Thanks

Foxglove
Pumice is rhyolite, and is silica based. Like sand. I would say it is fine to use in a tank. But this is from a geology view, rather than an experienced fish-keepng one!
Fred
cool so i might not throw it all away and keep a few incase i dare try in the future

Damiana
The trick with pumice it to weight it down like you would driftwood and let it saturate. Good luck with your tank.
