  1. 4 x Juvenile Male Guppies for sale, based in West Auckland. Most of them are sword tale guppies, both top or bottom swords. Colour combos vary, a lot have yellow/black spotted colouring on dorsal fin. Anywhere between 2-6 months old. Also have Plenty of Guppy Fry (3-6 weeks old) as well if interested.
  2. I fear I'm about to have guppy fry. I've put the female in a breeder box for now. I don't actually want fry, so once they're big enough to go into a main tank, what do I do with them? I live in Christchurch, are there any LFS that will take them? I don't want any money for them and someone who could take all of them would be great. I might also pass on the female I have and keep a few males.
  3. Hi, I got my first guppies a couple of months ago. Two females arrived pregnant, and now I have around 20 6-week old fry and 20 1-week old fry. I’ve been doing as much research as I can, but I have two questions I can’t find answers to. I’m hoping someone here can help me out. 1. I’ve read that it’s good to fast the adults one day a week to prevent swim bladder issues. I’ve also read that fry need to eat several times every day. At what age is it okay for fry to be fasted for one day? 2. I recently put some spinach in the tank to try to catch some nuisance snails. The snails didn’t fall for it, but the guppies LOVED it. So I’d like to give them more veggies, but I’m worried about over feeding them. If I give them veggies should I not feed their usual pellets or flakes that day? Or if in addition, how frequently should I give them veggies? Just as a treat once a week, maybe? Thank you so much for your help. ?
  4. Hi there, I am preparing to move house in the next year, so want to give away all my guppies and two tanks. I want them to go to a fish enthusiast rather than just someone on trademe. I have been breeding these yellow females for a few years now, and they seem to reproduce stably. There are also some green or yellow snakeskin males, female green diamonds. You can see the fish and tanks here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdWiJWkMeh8&feature=youtu.be. The yellow females look a bit pale in this video, but I think it's because I had only just turned on the light. The tanks are mature.
  5. Hi there - I would like to see these fish go to a good home in the Nelson region. I'm attaching a nominal price of $50 for everything. 1st tank: For a few years now, I have been breeding with a line of yellow female guppies, which are now mostly breeding true. I have been using two of their offspring snakeskin males as the fathers. There are 10s of fish in this tank now - mostly females. 2nd tank: I have been using this as my 'overflow and males' tank. The highlights are: 1 unusual blue/green male, 1 orange/yellow male, a green diamond female, and a couple of partially snakeskin males. The tanks themselves are 40L each, and include the built-in filters/pumps etc. The tanks are well established and healthy. They have a few plastic plants in them, and non-invasive, naturalised 'seaweed'. I am selling these fish because, since moving from Wellington in July, my current and future priorities have changed/will be changing. I want these fish to go to someone who knows a lot about fish, fish-keeping, and ideally someone who is keen on keeping up the yellow breeding. See pic and vid of fish and tanks in post below. Vid shows the fish. Please reply in this thread if you're interested or have questions.
