  1. i have an adult colony of wild caught Ikola Frontosa. There was a colony of Moba but I think they died.
  2. Im on the lookout for a Frontosa colony. Would prefer mature fish but would consider young fish.
  3. Hi folks. I’m still around .Still a keen fisho. More into marines these days. Still have my Fronts and other tangs. The tank in question is now a marine reef tank, starting to take shape. One of the big differences between corals and plants is ,corals are very slow growing so well take a year or more to start looking good . Compared with a planted tank were it only took a couple of months before I was having to pull out bucket full’s of plants to stop it from being over grown. I do miss that setup. I will post some pic of the new setup soon. PS the plant in question is Valliseria spiralis var contortionist .
  4. Got to level 17 . now my brain hurts . Thanks Ira :-?
  5. All good Ant N . Hoping to get up to the club this Sunday. Been awhile so wont be pretty. How those babies going. I hear what your saying David. I guess the situation to avoid is were a LFS has a tank full of cheep Fronts and an inexperience fish keeper comes along and buys one or two to go in there community c/tank without doing there homework.
  6. Hi Fonty fans. Good to see some breeding success out there. My guys and gals are doing well. Last month I moved them from the 1300 L display tank into there own 1000 L tank. They seem to like it, as there are 3 females holding at the moment. I striped a female last week that had been holding for 35 days and got 30 beautiful fry from her. . This was her first hold so was really surprised how many she held. Who knows were the price of Fronts will end up. My biggest fair is seeing them get to cheep and people not giving them the care they deserve. I saw a lone unhappy front in with a bunch of mbuas the other day. Not a good look. I should have quite a few available in a few months. Send me a PM if you are after some.
  7. Nice one . Hope all goes well . I found my breeding pair to be very good parents . I wish I hadnt them . Put me down for some fry to.
  8. Looking goood Afrikan. They sure have grown . Heres a pic of Berts dad Bob . Bobs is around 30cms
  9. Good to see the little guys arrived safe and well . These guys are around 45 days old .Their bars will darked and will look like mini adults in a couple more weeks Heres a pic of the parents of your fry .
  10. Hi Bilaney. I have breed Corydoras similis before. I did nothing different. Heaps of live food and they grow like weeds.
  11. Defiantly cool fish. I have four. Heres some pics of my pair of golden heads. They have bred a couple of times, but haven’t got passed the wiggler stage. Im sure if I move the pair into there own tank and feed them up on fry they would spawn and raise successfully.
  12. Alan’s passion for the hobby is an inspiration to us all. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to Rose and family

  14. Im picking you have an Aponogeon there Hummingbird , more than likely an natans hybrid .
  15. Thanks for the kind words everyone. As they say, variety is the spice of life. So Im sure this tank will go through more changes over the coming years. Maybe an African swamp tank full of killie fish. What do you reckon Alan? Who knows what will tickle my fancy in the future. Thats the beauty of this hobby (addiction).
