  2. Hi everybody , only got into fish when Dad moved to Aussie and gave me his 100cm tank (which has since had a broken bottom & had an emergency replacement with a 4 ft tank from Jansens @$108 which i thought was cheap )with guppies , large clown loach & male bristle nose about 6 mths ago . Now i've got the 4 ft'r with a ton of guppies and swordtails , a 3ft im breeding Gold Blackeye Ancistrus in and an AR850 that has the 7" loach plus 2 x 2 1/2" loaches for company along with the bristlenose , 2 x otocinclus , 2 x angel fish , 2 x gold rams , 2 x blue rams , and a red tail shark that likes to chase them all . I would like to fill the rest of the house with tanks but money and space are the problem . Pegasus & Caryl , i jumped the gun with my comments , the info was here and plenty more besides , please accept my appologies . FISH ARE ADDICTIVE ,
  3. I remember reading something about Anchor worms in a fish disease book from the library , cant remember specifics but could try a google search to get more info , hope this helps
  4. Well im sorry but i dont like watching my plants die , this is what it said under disease , "A place to ask for help, offer remedies and talk about sick fishies in general." I was asking for help , i apologise for not knowing everything about your site & not knowing what section to put it under , as i said no one told me what it was or that flourish excel would clear it up . As i have heard water conditions is responsible for most things , i have a kit that tests Ammonia , Nitrate , Nitrite & P.H. and they are all good i probably need a phosphate test kit but im on a sickness benefit & got a 4 mth old son so hes gotta come first . Sorry if i upset you guys but after several hours of checking old forums and finding out it was bb algae & that flourish excel would sort it out i was frustrated no one had told me this . Would like to thank Frenchy for a prompt reply & trying to help a beginner . Sorry Caryl & Pegasus
  5. I have identified it as blackbeard algae , found out floursih excel double dosed will kill it , thank you for your advice herefishiefishie , bit of a waste of time posting it in here as no one answered as to what it was or how to get rid of it , dissapointed in this site . Waste of time .
  6. The worst tank is an Aqua One 850 , the lights in it are 10000 & 15000k will that promote algae growth ? Thanks for your help
  7. Hi , one tank has a male adult bristlenose in it & 2 otocinclus & another tank is one im using to breed gold blackeye ancistrus , thats got 2 adults and about 20-30 young ones from 15-45mm , my last tank has heaps of guppies & swordtails & is no where near as bad , all tanks get a weekly 20% water change .
  8. I have 3 tanks and have this black furry , looks like hair growing on my ornaments and plants and its starting to strangle the plants , leaves falling off & dont look well at all . Any suggestions appreciated ;-)
  9. I've got 1 pair that have spawned about 4-5 times , from about 30-40 fry usually only get about 10 survivers . Thats in a 900x380x450 tank left with the parents , fed Nutrafin Bottom Feeder Tablets , Zuchini , Cucumber & JBL pleco chips , they dont seem very interested in pleco chips so usually have to vac out following day but very keen on the Bottom Feeder Tabs , gonna try breeding trap with air stone etc , fingers crossed for more survivors LOL
  10. Try Nutrafin bottom feed tablets :-)
