  1. Hey all, Wanting to get my hands on a small school of CPDs. Know of any breeders or any other place they are available? I'm in Auckland. You can text me on 0223624704 Also, any other info on how to keep the fish and maybe even breed them would be apprecoated
  2. Hi all, Have had a disaster by way of two leaky tanks. Anyway, I desperately need to find a home for some fish that have leaky homes at the moment. I tried to save as many as I could, but unsure of who I have managed to net and put into another tank (which is leaky as well.) Anyway, here is what I THINK i might have: 2x Angels 5x male guppies 2X harlequin rasboras 6x bleeding heart tetra 1X clown pleco (i THINK this is the breed) 2x siamese algae eaters 10x neon tetras Plants: Lots of Val Two big bunches of rotala macranda 3-4 swords 1 lily of some sort heaps of cabomba! java moss a whole bunch of some sword of grass, my brother in law who bought it said its something called 'zealandia' or rather. unsure. its a good carpet anyway!
  3. Hi all, I've also posted over at private trade and exchange, as you'll see I have some plants and fish that need a home So last night i noticed the water level on my 300L tank was a bit lower than normal. Realised I had a leak. Only had a leak about 2 months ago and rebeaded the tank. Turns out its more serious and the leak i have/had now is way more serious. Some serious water damage to the house I think. Bah Anyway, I had to move all the fish and plants to another tank, prob about 200L. As Ive realised today, this also has a leak Unfortunately I don't have the time, energy, ability or money to get a new tank or have my current setup fixed. Breaks my heart too as I've really taken a shine to this hobby having inherited all this cool gear. Had such a setup to be proud of too, amazing amounts of plants and good healthy fish. It's really been my pride and joy and I've become attached to the fish! Anyway, sorry for the whine, just thought someone on here might understand the disappointment I feel right now. I haven't posted much on here but have lurked a bit and you all have provided me with some great ideas, help and inspiration. Good news for you, is that I have quite a lot of plants and fish to find a home. Can't even think of a price right now as I'm just mostly bummed and worried about my fish. Kinda need to find them a home ASAP. Head over to the exchange page for details Cheers Alister
  4. thanks for that. i think I'm gonna go with the 24/7. I'm fairly sure it'll be enough for my tank size
  5. Yes was wondering if I should just go for the Ray2 because it has higher light (correct?) and wasn't sure how much practical use all the settings are on the 24/7. Dimming would be cool (make 'sunrise' and 'sunset' a little easier on the fish as my angels eat all their eggs up every time the lights pop on at the moment) and some sort of night/moonlight would be good for viewing but yeah...unsure about how needed all that is! your opinion?
  6. Hi all, I like the look of the Ray2 or 24/7, as it seems like a good option for my tank. My tank is 120*60*60, and its 50 cm to the substrate. I like the idea of LEDs since they should cost me less in the long run and I have to replace all my six flour bulbs anyway so Im looking at spending a bit anyway. Does anyone know where or how I can get these? No go on amazon and I'm a bit reluctant to try eBay. Alternatively, does anyone know of an LED setup that would be suitable for me that i can get in NZ? I've seen AquaOne setups at HFF but I have't been able to find out the PAR data for those
  7. Anybody on here either make and sell a PPS-Pro solution or know where I can get some? Either that or a trace mix that I can make one up myself? All the online calculators assume ready access to products I can't seem to find (TNC TRACE, CSM+B etc) I've seen a few older posts mentioning such products people make here but don't want to assume and PM them years after that said post! Any help would be appreciated.
