uncontrolled dogs roaming at night, lost pig dogs etc have done plenty of damage to ground birds, kiwis in particular.Remember what happened up north somewhere?Heaps of dead kiwis were found, one bite to their back and just left.
are you for real Twinkles? To quote you,"feral cats aren`t the accomplished killing machines ferrets are"You are not going to get away with a statement like that on here!
we had the same thing here, they came with the bran I had for the mealworms and then the pantry was full of them(as small moths)Did a big cleanout and found an old bag of rolled oats that look like your macadamias, full of larvae.
have you heard the one about closing the stable door after the horse has bolted?Well that about sums up their tinpot ruling. They did it with ferrets how long ago?Well past the lifespan of a ferret, i could go out and buy one tommorrow if I wanted to?Whats the lifespan of a blue tongue etc?Waste of time and ink on paper with another un-enforceable law??
many a responsible and good reptile keeper has lost a snake neck??I have had a water dragon get out of an `escape proof` pen?Luckily it jumped into an escape proof yard after the escape proof pen?Accidents can and do happen.
don`t be in too much of a hurry to send any money anywhere, particularly overseas? This reeks of scam to my sceptical mind???The reptile industry over there is just that?
too late, puffadragon has his name on it.Will be doing some firewood soon,if another one turns up you can have it,will let you know.Found a big sucker last year under the water trough in my chook house, will look under there if I am feeling brave.
would you?You would have to clean them out in bran etc but they will eat anything that moves and will fit in their mouth.I know someone who has fed young beardies on them before.
been mooted for ages.No one seems to know what is actually in place or if it is in fact law?(bylaw?)They seem to be more concerned about their ability to produce live young rather than lay eggs which then have to incubate. If they knew anything about anything They should be more concerned about the water dragons.Much more active and able to survive cold winters and maybe even able to breed in some microclimates?I can`t see a blueslug,I mean tongue being much of a threat to many native animals?I know someone that breeds alot of bt`s forsale in petshops and his akld sales have certainly dropped off.
who knows what this is?was found under a log ,the only reason I could get it was it had made its long silken tunnel along the ground rather than down into the ground?Have seen them here now and again but bigger than this one.I will post if anyone wants it?
this one just come out with the red ears.Have had a few like it in the past.Never kept any to grow on other than one that I gave to a friend....his labrador got it and chewed it up?
