  1. Thanks for the advice
  2. its a little bit soft but for the most part it still hard also I forgot to mention this but it's effects less then 10% of the piece
  3. On of the front corners of my tank stand is a little swollen the back and the other side of it are completely fine doesn't this look like particuly bad the wood isn't spongy at all but is a little softer then the rest its only the outer black part that seems to have swollen a lot but would like some other opinions
  4. As title would love to try one of these looks really interesting
  5. Hi I was just wondering if anyone else has Chandas I've got five
  6. as title would like to buy wolffia but would strongly prefer if it contains no lemna
  7. sorry but I don't think they would do well with gold fish plus your tank looks a bit to bright for them
  8. I've decided I want to use my freshwater crab tank for something else and need to rehome them I have between 6 and 10 in order to keep these you will need some semi decomposed wood from a bush stream (for them to hide in as well to eat) as well as some leaves also from a stream these would do well in a native tank with smaller species like bullies and inanga but Kokopu would probably try to eat them these wouldn't do well in a high flow tank anyone in Wellington interested
  9. as it says I would like to buy some wolffia off some one NOT LEMNA
  10. free fish someone must be interested
  11. I gave most of them to jaide but now I've rounded up the stragglers anyone else want some
  12. Got a bunch of guppies about twenty I want gone however these are not to be used as feeder guppies most are very coulourful so if anyone one wants these for their tank contact me I'm in johnsonville Wellington they are a range of ages and patterns
  13. I wouldn't put in golden bell frogs as theres a good change they will try to eat the lizards when they get bigger also they are not native to nz so don't fit in with the rest of the theme I also wouldn't use shrimp as they would be virtually impossible to breed in captivity meaning they would not renew themselves and therefore will not be self sustaining also keep in mind only crans and commen bullies would only be able to breed in a tank that Koura would be happy in as the other kinds of bullies can't breed in captivity or need faster flowing water then Koura would cope well in if your interested Once you get started I would be happy to supply you with some native aquatic and/or semi aquatic plants I'm not sure about making the water section self sustaining but if you established a heathly population of a number of land invertebrates before you add lizards the land part will probably be self sustaining as longs as there's plenty of plants for the insects to feed on and you don't add to many lizards also make sure to get a permit from doc before you take any native lizards
  14. Amazing you should seriously consider being a professional photographer

  18. Great to see stuff like this gives you hope for our aquatic wildlife
