About 16c
Without any cooling?
-
It was a te port tank only 40l
Do you use any method for cooling it?
-
Room temp in the shadyest part of my room
And what temp would that be? Do you have a thermometer in your tank?
-
The same stuff killed two commen bullies in the same tank
Sounds like it would've been due to stress, probably heat related. What temp is the tank at?
-
What what kinda pencil is that big I mean 13ish cms
Mine are 18cm. I'm guessing this is a different koura to the one that killed the bliegill?
-
About the length of a large pencil not includeing claws
You've got a 20cm+ koura? I find that hard to believe.
-
If the crayfish if big enough it won't be interested I haven't lost one mountain minnow in about two mouths there been in with the crayfish
How big is your koura?
-
Maybe mountain minnows
Wouldn't recommend it, being diurnal and quite small, they probably wouldn't last very long.
-
Koura need water temperatures of under 20°C so the only real non-native option would be goldfish which would inevitably have their fins nipped and torn while they're sleeping. They would also need to be bigger than the koura to stand a change of not being killed.
If you go natives you could have smelt which are spend their life in saltwater but can be caught and kept for a couple of years when they come in to breed and bullies which are extremely similar to triplefins. And you could also catch some small grey mullet which can be good in a tank once they learn to eat flake food.

i reckon thats a good price Over $800 new
Yep

Hey,what brand is your chiller and how much did it cost?
I'm hoping to have one by next summer.
Hailea, cost $350 second hand.
-
How rare are the blue ones
How long is a piece of string?
Depends on the population, different populations will produce more of one color than another depending on which survive to breed. Occasionally you will see very blue (usually pale) individuals but they are very uncommon due to not being very well camouflaged and getting eaten before reaching maturity.
-
I have a dark greyish blue one and a terracotta one.
I've seen a very pale grey one before.
-
Original thread of the setup for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Good job. I'd be tempted to try natives but I don't think I could handle two chillers whirring in the lounge.
Thanks

Wow :nfs:
-
Not their usual habitat :rolfl:
Only environment I've ever found them in :dunno:
-
Where did ya get those crans bullies from?
Found them :ton: in a poly-box!
-
Link to photos of my 400 litre native aquarium, currently filled to 300 litres due to max chiller volume.
Stocking is:
3 Giant Kokopu
1 Inanga
3 Koura
~10 Common Bullies
~5 Crans bullies
2 Redfinned Bullies
1 Upland Bully

Is this the tank that Stella was involved in setting up?
