booger

I would have to say that this internal filter is not to my liking. The first week or so it went fine then all the sponge filters got really clogged up so I rinsed them out, so did the aqua balls. The finer filter in the very top was unrecognisable there was that much crap stuck to it that I had to throw it out. Since then i have just used the balls and bought filter wool. I added carbon to get the water clearer and this worked for a couple of days. I dont think i have a suitable filter for my size tank. it is 4 foot long and not sure how wide. Can any throw some suggestions my way. cheers. :roll:

Thanks Sue I will have a look but they are very hard to spot, tiny we buggers they are. I can move the males into a community tank.

Last night while watching my pregnant livebearers, i have guppy platy & swordfish, i saw a little baby swimming around now i'm unsure who gave birth to this little critter and they still all look fully loaded with babies. Do they give birth all at once or drop them one at a time? Also after having babies does their belly go down straight away or will it take a couple of days? This is gonna sound dumb but i willing to ask....... how do i know if she has been fertilised or she just has a belly full of eggs? At this stage one of them has had a baby should i take the males out or leave them in with the females? Thanks for ya help :lol:

what would be the right temperature for preggy fish to keep having babies? i have an undergravel filter and i also have an airstone in the tank should i turn it off would it interrupt the water to much?

thanks for that caryl. so i can take the males out the tank? does the female look after the fry? all my preggy fish have extremely large bellys i wasnt sure whether they were full of eggs or babies?? i'm new at this can ya tell :oops:

(not me personally 8) ) 2 x platys 1 x sword fish 1 x albino kribensis 1 x guppy i know these fish are live bearers, so that means that they will have babies right? and they have their eggs fertalised inside them, if they arent fertalised what happens? how would you know if they have been fertalised or not? also what is spawning? how does the tank need to be set up? do they need the man in the tank with them? could someone explain to me the process of getting livebearers to breed please any information will be great. cheers susan

what would be involved if someone was to buy fish off you to bring into new zealand?

Can anyone help me regarding the state of my white fish. i have a piece of would and some gravel and java moss in the tank with an undergravel filter, how long before she should lay her eggs, i think she is on the verge of going to explode her belly is very large and a puply pinky colour, she does have a male friend in the tank with her. thanks for ya advice.

It is a Albino Kribensis. Why wouldnt it be pregnant? The belly is extremely large and a purply pinky colour. Any help. cheers

I have got angels, platys, red tailed shrk, tiger barbs, neon tertas, pleco, kuhli and a catfish. I have recently bought a white fish unsure on name that is heavily pregnant, now her boyfriend is also white with a bit of red on his fin. what do i need to do to make her have these babies, she is extremely large her belly is nearly purple i bought her from the petshop like this. any help would be much appreciated
