Hey guys, I wasnt really to sure where to post this but im sure itll be fine here. Tomorrow i am having my house flea bombed or whatever you want to call it and i was wondering how can i protect my fish and turtles. Do you think a couple of towels covering them will be fine or will i need to use something else in case it seeps through the towel. Thanks in advance

The PH just shot up. i think i have it under control now. I still dont get why it went so bad. Maybe the council did something to the water one day lol.

I have added a big bit of driftwood which has leeched tannins but i am pretty sure that would only drop the ph. Its a ar980t which is 245l running 2 filters. I do use Flourish excel and comp when i remember. It has java fern, moss, a lily pad looking thing (not sure what its called), thin leaf java and one more type of plant but im not sure what it's called. Yupp i have done a water change and i also dosed up the tank with more ich cure since it came back and a ph regulator by seachem

Hi guys, Yesterday my favourite ram died during the night :tears: so when i got home i decided to check my ph levels. Only to find they were way off the chart from usually just below 7 to over 8. I have no idea of how this happened. Now it looks like my 2 kribs are dying one is just sitting on the bottom looking depressed and the other looks like hes trying to swim but his tail looks like its falling apart sort of. All my other fish are fine and i have recently been dosing a ich cure for my loaches. Any ideas on what would cause this rapid change in ph? Rico

It has 3 tubes and today i bought a powerglow one. So hopefully i see some results within the next month

I was just wondering how did you get rid of the tannins? Just water changes or did the purigen help a lot?

This bad boy cost me $20 and its dying lol. There like 2 months old but standard lamps. But i think ill get some better lamps to help grow the plants better.

Should i change the tubes?

So if the LFS plants dont usually grow where do you guys get your plants from? I had java moss and fern growing in there but i put it into my turtle tank as it was looking plain. Thanks for the advice so far

Im not sure what kind of plants they are sorry. Ill take a picture of them :slfg: Im still a rookie i just go into the LFS and pick a plant lol. What kind type of tubes/lighting and ferts could i use thats better than what i already have?

Hey guys. I have my 245 litre tank and i have just started planting it. I currently have the stock tubes that are in the ar980t and i am using 5ml of flourish excel every other day and flourish (the normal one lol) once a week. The plants don't seem to be doing that well and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on improving there growth. Thanks in advance

Wow! how do you get your plants to grow like that?

Annoyingly my lfs closes at 5:30 and i finish work at 5 so i still havent had a chance to go get my water tested. They seem to be getting better and ive just been doing small water changes everyday. But i have also notice that the angelfish are getting a little feisty since they are trying to breed now so that could of been adding to the stress.

There honey gouramis im pretty sure. There with 12 tetras, 2 angels, 1 bristlenose, 6 guppies. Feeding them flakes + frozen food and blanched veges every now and again. i didnt know they did water testing :sml2: Ill do it next time i have a chance

ph is at 7 and at 24 degrees. Im unsure how to test the rest >.
