  1. I'll courier my one down to you to try I originally got it from Marine Depot.
  2. pink monti of wasp's i got about 4-5 days ago only seems to have polyps at the tip now, the rest of it (base) looks "fuzzy" ? i must get a photo of it tomorrow night. i am seriously thinking there is something decaying in my tank now
  3. I've had one for quite some time, tried it out several months ago, looks better than it actually works
  4. well it's too early to say really. i've ripped out most dead acro's. lps are "ok", not as fully expanded as i would hope for. however in saying that, the pink monti digitata frag i got off wasp (cheers mate!) has started to go an insane pink in some areas of it. not sure if its just coz it was like that before (wasn't when it first went in the tank) or whether its starting to colour up or just found its balance. have to aquascape again, thats the part that'll take some thought
  5. no. ppm is not accurate as it's often a guesstimate from what i've been told as it cant actually measure an exact figure, it estimates based on the percentage of water flowing past the sensor. its close enough though.
  6. count me in too wasp, i could do with any frags at the mo no matter how small  perhaps me and shane organise a visit at some stage
  7. cheers shane. if any more of those acro's of mine are receding, chuck them out. the pink poc is gone - thats the biggest downer, was a stunner ps: come over for a beer dude
  8. chimera

    dosing pumps

aquamedic sp3000 for me too, only coz i got one, it is well priced and has not failed me yet
  9. thats the marketing part
  10. true, but to be fair that info of fenners is rather old (or at least his reference information is) still, i dont think UV will work for everyone - again, as often as this is brought up, it is true - what works on one persons tank wont necessarily work on anothers.
  11. nah still crap. havent done alot with it other than been feeding the fish and continuing with regular water changes (20% weekly now) no improvement on acro's that are in there, no improvement on lps either. a little stumped, not sure if it was solely the fluidising carbon that caused it got to plan a weekend to rip out all rock from the display and redo it all. finding the time is difficult at the moment. up north for work at the moment. you dont really want to see pic's anyway, it will just make me depressed taking them! looks like a coral graveyard - thats probably best way to describe it.
  12. i prefer to work in "drops" - easy to remember and thats how the bottles of zeovit i've got come with. i think mine was 6 drops of zeofood and 6 of zeobac twice weekly for my tank - although i went usually went 4 of food.
  13. finally some pic's, looking awesome!
  14. ahhh, the joys of having 800 litres of water sitting under my house 8)
  15. in 1 night - very, guarantee it!
  16. funny you say that, i used a softish plastic toothbrush handle to hold the pillar of rocks together in my tank wondering if thats been slowly leaching over the past year and adding to phosphate problems?!
  17. good to run filter wool occassionally, just to strip detritus from the water column. long term continuous usage not recommended though. some forms of plastic are bad - i think layton knows more on this. pvc piping is ok although i guess all plastics leach, albeit very slowly
  18. it's ok, i think the rate of nitrification in my tank i'd eat your filthy water in a matter of seconds
  19. i wouldnt be overly concerned either fay, so many tanks I've read about have low phosphates but some small level of nitrates. i've basically dumped packets of food into my tank and still have no readings, have even had the skimmer off for the last 3 days i'm actually TRYING to get a nitrate reading - sort of a test with the acro's that are currently alive to see what they do, figured everything else is dead so what harm can it do!
  20. yeah well, a bit of light hearted humour. will see what cees comes back with
  21. i have the power 8) re-read his post above...
  22. How long did you run it? Best thing I've found so far (and believe me, I've tried quite a few things on my tank  ) was rowaphos
  23. preferably best not to use powerheads for returns. they aren't designed to work with any head pressure (against gravity), more for circulation only. look for a small eheim or laguna for that size tank, perhaps eheim 1250?
