  1. Surprisingly, two years ago I discovered a population of BOTH Litoria raniformis and Litoria aurea. Only yesterday I discovered a location with Litoria Ewingii (Both populations just out of Christchurch.) This is after years of searching in every ditch, pond, creek and wetland in the Christchurch area. All species at both of these locations seemed VERY vulnerable. Our frog populations are rapidly declining. I don't encourage even touching any wild frogs in or around Christchurch -there is a reason why they are few and far between! Best stick to local pet shops if you can help it! (:
  2. Great set-up Jason! May I ask what brand of expanding foam you used for the wall and where you picked it up from?
  3. Thank you all! I will be sure to browse the different sections.
  4. Hello, my name is Lochie. Glad to have finally joined the 'fishroom forums'! For the most part, it's the amphibians and native freshwater fish of New Zealand that take my interest, and so I have always been fascinated with the maintenance and design of beautiful vivariums and aquariums. I am looking forward to posting photos of the step-by-step construction of my vivarium to be. I aim for it to be an advanced display, including false bottom and drip wall/waterfall etc. It will house a few Litoria Ewingii, although I am focusing more on the successful growth of moss and tropical plants etc. I want to achieve a mini sustainable eco-system! This requires absolute balance, and has taken me months of research to find out how to make it happen. I am still in the process of hunting down all of the correct equipment/tools. I would love any advice or tips, from anyone who has done this or something similar before (successfuly!) Keep posted! -Lochie
