  1. Guessing ur a yr 11-13 im in year 10 and am always thinking frogs and things alike haha
  2. Its funny cause im in the same situation pretty much but i think i have about 60-80 whistler tads how long will they be on fruitflys if they hatch out at 1cm??
  3. Whistling Tree Frog: Found in most of New Zealand can withstand low temps. Golden Bell Frog: Found in top half of the north island prefers higher temps. Southern Bell Frog: Found in most of New Zealand i think. If your looking for a climbing frog get a whistler. If your looking for a colourful frog get a golden (no warts) or a sothern (warts and green line down centre of back). Enjoy

  5. Come home to find both my whistling tree frogs dead had been sluggish, and then they were fine and then dead!! Anyone else had this i know herperjosh had!

  8. i have just bought a big tank and am hoping to do something with it like yours plus about 90 whistling tree frog tads
  9. Yeah these are light coloured only a few are black and they are the smaller ones most likely the whistlers

Anyone got any ideas on judging a species at tadpole stage got about 100 in a big storage container and have studied them for ages, the pond i collected them from was in waitarere (north island sorry) and when i was getting them i also caught a one eyed whistler which i have now named Tahi but these tadpoles look more like golden bells or southern bells because they seem to be quite large and have a slight greenish tinge to them and tiny gold dots on there body no legs yet but also no deaths i guess i could just use the patience stratedgy but any other ideas?
  11. Getting some tadpoles tomorrow got a big storage bin out collecting some rainwater is there anything else I will need?

  15. Got some neon tetras for my dad for fathers day the first real fish we've ever had. i really like them so dus he
  16. Wat size tank would u put bout 12 tads in plus wat accessories, is oxy weed enough or would u get a pump/filter and r u heating the water? Any other tadpole advice food? Water changes? how often? All need answering please and thanks

So all u need for them (not detailed but) is a large terrarium with alot of ventilation + i got my dad a neon tetra tank he loves it he thinking bout going full scale and getting a big tropical tank but that will be in the future so far no progress with frogs but im going to my beach place this weekend which has frogs and tadpoles in a pond nearby i will have a look out for some healthy ones and maybe an albino (hopeful but unlikely). wish me luck
  19. Yeah true but i live way up on a hill really exposed so not sure if they will like the cold wind but we will see
