  2. Hi again back on the drift wood. Has anyone tried tea tree. as its a fairly hard wood and should sink fairly well. cheers
  3. ok no worries. what colour CT's and halfmoons do you have
  4. Actually on that note would it be to much to ask if you can put some pictures of your females that you want to sell and males if you have any. as im on the shore and not that much fun trying to get over the bridge. cheers neil
  5. Sounds good will just let xmas and new years go by first. or may organise something next week. cheers neil
  6. just interested if there are many in auckland area. and also can you only get plakat giant fighter or is there crown tails, half moons etc. and if anyone has photos that would be great. was looking at may be breeding them. also off the giant fighters topic :smot: . does anyone have any really nice crown tails. halfmoons or dragons both male or female that they want to sell. i have started breeding and so far have a hole lot of babys from black orchid crown tail female crossed with the dragon male in my profile picture. i also have a nice male black orchid crowntail that will be bred next with the black female. i want to stock up my breeding stock with good quality fish, defanatly need more females.
  7. Hi does anyone in auckland breed nice giant fighters????
  8. yeah it should look great i have a little aqua one 380 as my fry tank and it happens so that the gutter guard fitted perfectly on the side. so mines growning great. i would imagine that the wind breaker mess would be better to use.
  9. ok thanks for that i guess it more the fun of going down and catching them then lol
  10. Hi I know the hunt was a while ago but has anyone got some of them in auckland???
  11. Hey another idea instead of getting rid of it. Is use it in a fry tank or put it between to pieces of gutter guard then cable tie together. and stick it to the side of your tank. it ends up making a nice looking java moss wall....... But the best moss to use for that would be XMAS MOSS
  12. Any luck on getting up and running
  13. Thanks so much everyone for your reply's. I thought it was a ploy to get me to buy it from the shop. Ha looks like the dogs will be getting more walks alone the beach :slfg:, and I think that idea with a drum is great especially to breed mozi larvae and kill to birds with one stone, so i think i will be off to get a drum aswell> bummer i just got rid of my 50L home brew drum that would have been perfect for medium to small pieces. thanks again
  14. Hi Everone, On the topic of driftwood, what i want to know is: If you find a nice piece on the beach is it safe to wash off and use in a tropical tank?? Also if you found some around lake taupo or on a river bank would that be safe once cleaned?? I have often seen a nice bit of drift wood on the beach and it has crossed my mind once or twice that it would look great in a tank, but I was told in a shop that you can never do it and you need to buy it from a store, or is that a trick to make you buy from the shop. Yes granted its safer getting it from the shop but if you have a large tank just buying huge pieces of driftwood could get rather expensive for something that is a natural resource. And I dont like taking Pet Store words for granted, as their answers can very alot.
