Anyone giving away or selling plants? or anyone could recommend what to plant@ I would love to start planting now.

Sorry, I was resetting all my filters when I was taking the photos(Had to do some wiring). There isn't anything wrong with my filters. The tank is clean after a couple of minutes. I will put some decent photos of my tank soon. Just sorting out my fish and plants.

I am going to wrap some pink bat around the hose. Where would I get some?

I am nearly finished my epic 1200L journey! I am going to add a background and spam plants into my tank. Here also a video link of my tank plus aro plus pleco.

We only keep it open when we are there because there is not enough light in the garage otherwise its closed. The light inside the garage is at the far end of the garage, to keep it closed we probably need to buy another light or something to make it brighter and maybe build a handle from the inside of the garage?- this will make pulling it up from the inside much easier..will see will see Will buy poly for around the tank and the sump..planning on insulating the pipes as well to reduce most heat loss. Probably easier to buy poly haha will be doing a moss background and getting some more plants ie moss on wood, ambulias, java ferns, amazon swords etc (most of the low-medium light requirement plants) that's the kind of feel I want to do but we'll see...probably going to go with the flow with whatever happens

Wouldn't pink batts a lot more expensive than poly? how does using thin layer of cotton stuffing between 2 layers of poly sound? would that be effective?

haha il try but gona need to sell off some tanks first and rearrange the whole garage to my gf's mums liking :facepalm: and the garage is quite small... gf's mum got a 300$+ and lets say...she was not one happy woman :nilly:

How much would it cost to get the garage insulated? As what henward said, it cost him $400 to get his place fully insulated.

My black is around 45cm and it will be a bit of a pain to enter the garage then closing it as it is one of those metal pull up gates and sometimes its so hard to lift from the inside ...wished it had the electric gate :sml2:

And it would be pretty hard to add a single door to the garage unless, I change the garage door to a room door if that makes any sense?

Only problem is that the garages has only one door. Which is the main garage door. Oh and forgot to add, I've added some caves into the tank. I will upload some photos later. It isn't good photos though as a lot of glare.....

YAY!!! :happy1: Just transferred my girlfriends baby black arowana and 4 plecos (Royal, 2xGN, L200). The black look happy! It was scary transferring him TBH. Such a powerful fish! :thup: Okay, So I would need to keep the garage shut at all times. Meaning when I enter the garage I would need to shut the garage down once entered? I think I can do that, and get some 25mm poly for the back and sides. I'll get on to that once everyone settles in the 1200L. There are still more fish to add. I might add my discus in tomorrow too!. Thanks hovmoller for the calculation. Oh, I forgot to add that I added another AquaOne 1200 filter today too.

tank dimensions are 220x75x75cm room temp is 17 degrees with the garage door open at the moment sp will probably rise with the door closed we want the tank temp is 29

:slfg: Nah, I don't really fancy goldfish that much TBH. Nor do I have the money for a VIP red. Tank nearly setup. I have 3 Jager 300w heating plus 2 50w random heating. All set to 31 degrees. But my tank temp is always on 24.8-25.1. :dunno: I might get some poly and put it around the tank.

:slfg: Once the secret fish is added and is comfortable in my tank. Then I will reveal. Trying to find some plastic mesh at the moment and some mushroom head suction cups. I am also looking for some Christmas moss! PM me if anyone got some to give or sell.!
