  1. No worries. This year I'm planting 1 Serrano seed every few weeks so I will have a staggered crop come spring time. Will be interesting to see how early they can be started.
  2. Hungarians are pretty hardy chillies. I tend to get all my chillie varieties started in-doors in about August and then they go out side late October. Seedlings will do well under 8500K T8 lights for about 6 weeks. Sometimes August can be hard to do, especially if you have a cold house. I'v had mixed results with raising on a window sill but it can be done with more hardy varieties. They love early light and after about 8 weeks, repot to about a 10cm pot and put a heatpad under them. Makes them go nuts. I should add, the main fruiting season if you're not in a glass house is late December, as long as your Hungarian has 30 or 40 leaves by then you'll generally get a good little crop. If you plant them in the ground in a sheltered but sunny spot, you'll get HEAPS. One of my favourite eaters and nice and easy to grow.
  3. Photoshop or not that is freekin awesome!
  4. A Transformer for me. Need a new car and a robot to mow my lawns.
  5. Cool idea! Lots of stuff in the tank that way though. Plus my little waterfall idea wouldn't work so well. Have just scored a rough old 100+L tank for nothing. It has twice the depth so might even have a go at a paludarium. Just need to get a new piece of glass for the front. Can't wait to get a bit of time to start working on it :bounce:
  6. I miss my old fish Grumpy, he was so cool. Figured if I'm to do it again the next chap will have a huge domain, and of course he needs a lady friend or two. Wouldn't mind a Koura in there as well if I can find one.
  7. Thanks Dr. Google! http://boatbitsonline.co.nz/magento/uniseal-simply-the-world-s-best-seal.html
  8. Great idea, nice little cheap project. Where do you get these uniseals? First time I've heard of them. Would a little window in the unit be a good idea? That way you could see the indicator lights on the heaters. Also, would you seal the unit or some kind of screw top so it can be opened and cleaned?
  9. Good work. Neons look great.
  10. Dismantle the tank? It would be an awful job but easier to ship and store.
  11. If I had somewhere to put it I would love it. Really shouldn't go adding anything else till I get the shelving issue sorted out. Thanks though!
  12. +1 I suggest MS Security Essentials to all my clients, especially on netbooks and machines without a lot of grunt. If you're really worried about Trojans and Rootkits etc use ComboFix and/or Trend Housecall http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ http://www.combofix.org/ Unless you are protecting some serious data you don't need to pay for antivirus software. If you do have some serious data, A, it should be backed-up more than once and B, it shouldn't be on a netbook
  13. The display tank is around the 70L mark and the sump is a 54L. I've had the display tank for a while. I built it with a project like this in mind but moving house kept getting in the way. Had it up as a Marine for a bit, till my cruddy light crudded out. The sump is a freebie I've had lying round for ages. Garage shelving needs a redo before this can happen, looks like a busy weekend ahead :bounce:
  14. That Sag is staring to look real good mate. You planning on keeping it in the corner there or let it run wild?
  15. Another project I've been planning... Arrows represent flow (just in case you couldn’t figure that out ) The outflow will have black plastic mesh of 2 or 3mm spacing. Not worried about it being loud at all. Not sure on what I will have for a return pump but it will be strong. The idea is to move a lot of water. Might even do two pumps, put them on timers so the flow changes throughout the day. The return channel won’t be glass; it was just the easiest way I knew how to do it in Google Sketchup. Likely it will be just irrigation hosing or something.
  16. Never thought of it that way! I'm not too worried about the rules, it's not rocket science. Sure am worried about some other drivers though!!
  17. 11 days till the change and this is the first 'official' thing I've seen. Thought they would have had TV ads all over the place. I'm going to avoid driving for a few days after the 25th I think! Cool little tool.
  18. This tough: Had one jump out of my desk tank, land on the floor, get totally covered in fluff and lost for about 5 mins. Picked him up, washed him off. He's swimming relatively happily now We'll see how he is in the morning but I'm very surprised he's still going for it! What a tough guy! :nfs:
  19. I picked up seven Sterbai from a member here for $10 each.
  20. Yeah dude, nice timber! Dig that Lotus too :nfs: (Plant)
  21. Shot man  Don't you have an EMG you should be shredding? \m/
  22. Thanks dude. The substrate is JBL Aquabasis Plus between 2 and 4cm with the sand at around the same depth on top of that. I tried to keep the greatest overall depth below 8cm. It was boiled for about an hour before it was washed with straight then conditioned tap water. The tank has had water in it for a bit less than a month so shouldn't be anything freaky going on (yet). I'll give them till the end of this week and move them if they are still nutting out.
