There is no real rules on where you place power heads, you can place them anywhere in your tank you want, the idea is to make sure you donot have any dead spots within the tank. If they are placed directly opposite each other, say at opposite ends of the tank you will get good turbulance where the currents meet. You can create all kinds of flows depending on placement, hide them behind rock work or put them low in the tank pinting directly upwards. You are only limits is your imagination. Nick

No point in weekly updates, Its no quick fix so best to update every couple of months at the most. I have been using Zeovit for 2 months and my tank is looking good and I am pleased with the progress so far. The general visual well being of my tank is good and I am having some good growth from all inhabitants especially my sps.PO4 undectectable using Salifert. I have had no startling colour changes to my sps, but they are bright and healthy with good polyp extension and excellent growing tips, I am not expecting rapid changes in colour, nice slow progress is the way to go in this hobby See you in another two months for an update

Ultimate Reef TOTM is a good example of what can be achieved in this day and age. http://www.ultimatereef.net/TOTM/Apr04.htm We have a siniliar system on the North Shore its the "Takapuna Boat Ramp System" We are nuclear free but marine engine oil does it for me

program to resize those photos of my tank :-?

Lately mine has been a 3/4inch Seaswirl due to good exchange rates etc. Great product produces good water movement and its benefiting my corals. I would recommend this device for anyone wanting a gentle wave effect in the tank, good USA workmanship well priced and does not intrude in the tank, onlt the nozzle is seen in the tank. Photos of my Tank!!! YesSteve has taken photo's of my tank that I am thrilled with, just have to resize them to fit on the board Good Reefing Nicks

Lets start new threads, lets get some interesting new and wonderful debates going. I added a Seaswirl to my tank, very impressed with the results all I need is another one and some streams and I will be content for a while. got a good deal with the exchange rate cost $NZD280 including shipping and never got stung for and taxes. I have it attached to a Iwaki pump so it is working well. I have an idea for a thread!!!! What is your best buy!!!! anyone mention anything beginning with Z and your out out out!!!!

Sorry if I struck a nerve, I didn't mean to What I am saying is there is more than just one system available to reef keepers to enable them to keep stunning tanks and also rib the world of brown acro's. I have always been impressed with mud systems and have seen some great skimmerless systems as well although I have not seen them myself. DSB and Phelums are also good I beleive and I am sure people have great results with them. it could all be to do with Halides, again great tanks can be seen with 150, 250, 400w in colours 6500, 10000, 14000, 20000, using all sorts of supplemented lighting VHO, Antinics, T5's etc, etc, etc. I donot believe any one out there has the right to say this system or that system is the only one that works. If it works for you that is great, but it might not work for someone else. I have kept fish now for 28years and have seen every possible product used, re-used and re-branded, in vogue out of vogue and many just disappear of the face of the earth. Reefs, you could be right it might be an old product that never got of the ground when first released or came to the end of its product life. Don't forget that 80% of new products that are released into the market fail within the first year and not many last more than 3 years. But if it had potential it is good marketing practice to look at it again tweak it, apply the 4P's and run with it. Because it is has now become a new product Anyway everyone keep up the good work and happy reefing and long may the brown acropora disappear of the face of the earth But I want a F#$@%$# huge skimmer like Reefs. I want 8 x 400w Raduims I want David Saxby's tank If I cannot have Davids I want Reefs Tunze streams everywhere even in my bath And electric blue acros in nemo tanks Good Reefing

Reefs, You are not very sharp today, better book yourself in on an English Language course or just use the spell check facility on your computer!!!!
-
Reefs, Show us some tanks that are using it, or are you going to use in on your own tank???? I have had no problems with Zeovit I have been using it for one month and things are looking good. I have no measurable PO4 and I have had a good growth spurt out of my sps. All the frags I got from Brendan have firmly anchored themselves and are showing good growth. I am in no rush as thing are progressing well and in another couple of months I will hopefully sustain the sames levels in growth and colour I will be well happy. So come on Reefs, set up a tank using the original stuff and blow us away with some Acopora's with intense colours and stop slating other aquarists that are doing their bit to advance the hobby and rid the world of dull brown sps's Show us results!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
