  1. I have some very translucent blondes with blue tails. I crossed a neon blue with a translucent looking blonde and all of the fry look very identical. I might look at putting a tank aside to see what develops with this new strain
  2. the guy at the LFS guy showed me some siamese fighters that he took out of a polybox that had just been imported. There was about one and half cups of water in each bag, and about a cup ull of air MAX!! He said they can live in tiny puddles in the rice fields.
  3. is corrugated plastic sheeting ok for dividers, I mean does it release toxic poison from the plastic? I have a divider siliconed in but I am not sure I should put fish in there yet without at least asking here first?
  4. how much room you have in your freezer?
  5. where is everyone getting these golds from?
  6. hey thanks for the tips on hatching brine shrimp, and more discussion on decap. I have a bag of brine shrimp eggs so I will give it one more try :-)
  7. I just had this problem, and found that perspex was far to expensive for my liking, so I went hunting around town for something that would work. I found some black plastic card stuff at wharehouse stationary, I am going to try it out, very easy to work with, I am not sure about putting holes in it though. If I decide I want water to flow through I can just cut a slot in it later and cover it with that craft canvas stuff with the smallest holes in it. This was a real rush job and this tank will only be seen by my eyes, but I found the card really easy to work with compared to glass or perspex and it is cheap and easy to change around rip out etc... Also comes in a large variety of colours is black isn't your thing. I used it to go around my other tanks because I would assume because it is air filled it would provide some insulation as well as dark background. It cost $6.79
  8. Thanks alot for that, I notice a bit of decap on the bottom and only a few of my fry have the technology to eat from there, I will start trying to hatch brine shrimp again. Cheers
  9. I have been doing a bit of reading and all the websites talk about is baby brine shrimps, and that to achieve maximum growth and wellbeing of fry then that is what to feed them. I have not yet seen an article refering to Decap... Is that because Decap is new? Or is there another reason and should I try once again to get a decent amount of brine shrimps hatching :-?
  10. I think I will just leave the tank bottom bare, these tanks are only in my room and im not fussed on what it looks like
  11. oh right, so that means sponge filter would be fine, thanks for your help
  12. WOW!, that guppy is going to live for ages!
  13. My name is Richard, I have just got into Tropical fish. I want to breed Blue guppies so I bought tanks and I am getting right into it. I thought I would take some photos of my set up at the moment. This is the 300 litre tank in my lounge which currently has 8 female wild type guppies and a small pleco in it And this is a picture taken in my room, I have a 100litre tank with a breeding trio of blue guppies and about 30 fry beside that I have a 90litre tank currently empty apart from two clumps of fast growing Java moss, Then above that I have a 25litre tank that I have divided into three sections, and a 10 litre which I have divided in half. I am still trying to work out how I am going to organise my breeding so I can keep 2 lines separate, and each batch of fry separate. I think I need more tanks LOL Any help with my set up will be much appreciated. I would consider selling tanks and getting others if that would be more appropriate. Cheers Rich
