Hi My Hm male is not attending his nest at all their are eggs in their and they are white . Beginning to think they are infertile they spawned on Thursday eggs look healthy just concerns me he is ignoring them and not moving them around .

Yes well i conditioned my pair for a month on bbs and bloodworms just as well as she looks shattered now is recovering

My black and Red Hm male and his lover just spawned took 3 hours she was picking up all the eggs he didnt do anything except squeeze her and look after the nest. bit diffrent than my last spawn where the male did most of the work. Should be some gorgeous fry be aweome if their are some black ones be interesting to see how many fry their are looks like a lot of eggs so have to wait and see. first time i tried using Indian Leaves as a nest builder worked a treat male built huge nest .

Problem i have been having is getting the wrapper of the bottle i also have 3 litre drink bottles takes ages to clean them and get the wrapper of the bottle.

Spent all day yesterday cutting up drink bottles what a chore getting the wrapper of then the glue lots of scrubbing . So now all the males are housed i have the female fry swimming in their own tank might go 2 the 2 dollar shop and seem if the have any bottles not really happy with the set up so far. Think in the next few weeks will divide the tank into compartments . Started the fry on Bloodworms cut up very small they love them just as much as bbs

Think i will stick with the soda bottles easier the fry are 7 weeks old will start seperating them tomorrow

Just going through the process of seperating the fry as i can now tell their sexes. I know Adrienne uses soft drink bottles with holes in them for filtration i am doing the same thing . Would like to hear if anyone has any other ideas i have 60 fry looks like 70 per cent are males .

I boiled my leaves chucked 3 leaves in pot bought to boil then drained them put the tea back in pot added some fresh water and boiled them again then let them simmer for awhile and the tea came out very dark brown. Put the extract in the males tank also put one leaf in one of my frys tank just to see how they react seems fine so far the water colour gone yellow Thanks again david

Just recieved my Indian Almond leaves David said you can boil them so ive put 3 of them in a pot just wondering how many times you should boil them to get the tea, Sure the bettas will love them i couldnt belive how large they are might even throw some in my breeding tank

No she hasnt bred yet she seems to have lost her purple colour will get some melafix from lfs this week give her a dose she eating well though

One of my female MG fighters has a fungus on her lip its like a growth never seen it before . Have removed her from tank and cleaned it she is quarintened might have to get some stuff from pet shop tom.

Patience everyone will take some pics tomorrow they still a bit small well i think they are they were born 18th December. maybe its my imagination but once i started them on bbs they seem to be shooting away . When should you expect to see some colours some of them are showing red and black colours their father is purple and golden mum was red

David i want the black hm he is stunning My mozzie larvae coming along great used adog bone as David suggested water turned green and mozzies appearing already. i started and early one last week and have mozzies which i am feeding to fry

Just wondering does anyone use frozen brine shrimp for their betta fry ? I have used live bbs but keep getting empty shells in the tank when feeding it out does anyone have any solutions to that problem

david what an earth is moskitolivi you mention a waste tank hmm I feed my fry bbs and mw but they certainly not growing as fast as yours are beautilful hms by the way look forward to getting some of you soon

I have a 60 fry HM/ Mustard Gas HMPK going nicely 6 weeks old ready to start a new breeding programmee soon once i aquire some nice Black Hms of David and John hopefully then will be away laughing

Just wondering how many times you should feed fry per day ive been feeding mine twice daily is that enough also been doing water changes twice a week brett

I am the same i am waiting to get some decent Cts and wait and see how my Hm/Plakat spawn turns out . Does anyone have any suggestions how to get Bbs out of the bottle with out getting shells even when i turn of the pump and leave the light on for 10 mins i still get some shells when feeding out the brine shrimp. I kind of cheated got a good recipe and design of the internet saves me having to use a airstone .

Oh me probably got my info wrong about the brine shrimp then maybe the blood worms i had killed my other 3 fighters hmm might stay away from them now. But what do you use for conditioning if you cant use bloodworms
