    Little Fry

No one seems interested in them at this stage, super happy I've "saved" two so far. Hoping the ones that were knocked down by my clumsy catching haven't been gobbled by the platy. Fed the tank so hopefully they won't be hungry. They're not sticking to the glass so I think they're Rams. 8)
  2. I know this has been done many times but I have found some fry hanging out in my 54L planted. There is one male platy, two young rams and two ottos. Not the platy so who is it? Would otto fry stick to the glass? No ones looking after them but I have caught two in a cup until I fix up the net breeder. Trying for a third now. Have some algae covered riccia in the cup with them, hoping they can eat what ever's living in that. Too small for crushed flakes, maybe M worms though. Any ideas on what they could be?
  3. If I'm organizing it then the shrimp are mine! *evil-laugh* It was just a thought, this probably won't go anywhere. But knowing that they're in Aus is one step closer I guess.
  4. Are we talking about the same fish that seems to be "Oh so popular" in nano planted tanks in the U.S right now? :-?
  5. This was my first google response: http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/prod/245103/product.web I also saw the name under the commercial section but I thought it was a BN var. Maybe try this: http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/view ... 13&t=22445 HTH. 8)
  6. *Drop-jaw* That's insane. Im assuming that because they're Danio's that they need to be in 6+ schools, right? 6 x $24= $144! But a decent sized school would cost over $240!
  7. Im running 2 x 865 Cool daylight and 2 x 840 Cool white 18w tubes over my 2 foot tank. The former is 6500k and the latter is 4000k, I think. I prefer the 6500k because it gives a cool effect and the plants tend to grow towards those two bulbs. They're both t8's and seem to be fine for my plants. HTH
  8. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=32844 That might help.
  9. Spot the heater here Horizontal should be fine, just make sure there's good flow around it and the temperature is consistant. Super envious of your sand, could never bring myself to fork out that much.

    Good Deal?

Yes! Looks awesome. Any doubts just ask a question. If it was me, I'd leave the fish, gets complicated with livestock involved.
  11. Try inserting less photos into a single post, that usually works for me HFF is the best in Auckland, perhaps is the country. They have two stores, one in Albany and one in Mt Roskill. The first is the larger on and the latter is older but just as good. Also, try Animates. HTH

    Oh NO!

    Very nice gesture Zev *Insert-tumbs-up-emoticon-here*
  13. But once you've got a pair then it's all uphill from there!
  14. Thanks for the support nyclo, much appretiated. 8) I'll keep it up until after the spots are gone, not taking any chances on these fish.
  15. Definately have a background but don't limit yourself to black. I choose a light blue one for my 3 footer but the tint on the back makes it look stunning. Try to differ this tank from coventional tanks, make it stand out.

    Oh NO!

That sucks . I guess it'd better than having him suffer though, right? R.I.P Fighter.
  17. Now I'm thinking it's just a lizard minus three legs!
  18. Did a 30%, maybe a bit more, water change and added 5 drops of tonic per compartment. They look like they should make it *fingers-crossed*
  19. Looking good Si_sphinx, love the trunk going to the top. Where did you get it? 8)
  20. Private breeder from TM, goes by the username Redhead on here. Emailed but no reponse, she's prolly just busy though.
  21. I don't mind paying lots of money for these shrimp. They're my dream aquarium creature and just getting my hands on a breeding pair or pregnant female would make me super happy.
  22. Not out of the woods yet Twinkles, I'll wait until the treatment is over until I relax. I wish I knew how old they were though
  23. Turns out fighters don't just fight each other, they fight disease too! Spots are disappering, hardly any on either of them now. Will do a water change after school and dose a bit more tonic. I fear that the meth blue has stained the sand, I don't know how? But it has and I'm peeved. Anyways, here's the nest my sick red delta boy blew:
  24. Same here. If it was up to me, I'd have none. But the BN's come first! I'd sell them but they're my longest surviving and my second ever fish, plus they're a breeding pair
