  12. What with past history do not think that will ever happen ... thou I did try once ...
  13. Thanks for the reality check. Much appreciated. , can we now get back to the original thread. Is anyone breeding Australian Bearded Dragons for colours? If so, what colours? I am really interested in getting a valid breeding program going.
  14. Right one less to feed? that's an interesting way of putting it... So you farmed out the babies? So that means someone ELSE raised them, not yourself? and the end result was, SOMEONE else managed to get them raised to a healthy age? Can I have their phone number then? They might be able to give me a few tips Hey I can't wait to see how I get on myself........, as for the hatching, well here's hoping, and fingers and toes crossed LOL If I lose some, it will be a loss, but one I am sure I will learn from after all, it's about learning and getting the best results, at least the incubators are full with fertile eggs, which is an excellent start!
  15. Good to see you don't look into your past to closely, there seem to be some rather LARGE skeletons in your closet too ...... LOL Shame when someone knows your origins huh...
  16. So still a loss, that must have hurt! What happened? Good on you for not dealing with stolen lizards! What's the problem repto? Or maybe you might need to get a bit of factual information? Or were you refering to someone in particular?
  17. You mention a few breeders? So do you know if anyone is breeding for specific colours? I am still looking for different lines. There are always people who think they can make money from a "hobby" I figure you are lucky if your "hobby" can just cover the costs of the hobby, but hey that's just my thoughts. Good ones will always probably sell first, and a good reputation is only as good as the people who believe it. Price not withstanding, of course.
  18. I would imagine you would have to be a very poor breeder if you hadn't caculated for the additional mouths to feed, and made the appropriate adjustments to your food supplies/stocks. As it is I have too many bugs for the current livestock but I am sure that will swing the other way shortly. It would be interesting to see, how many "new" people would be interested in reptiles if the initials costs weren't so high.
  19. Always good to know there are some people that know more than me, .... So I take it, you get 100% hatch rate then? No losses at all? Wow! Congratulations with that, and when are you writing the caresheet for that one, I will be the first one to print that one off.
  20. Would LOVE to have a shipping container FULL of eggs, can you imagine what that kinda of numbers of lizards, on the market would do to the pricing, hahahaha there would be some VERY unhappy people around.....
  21. lol Must have been an interesting sized fridge, I would think a 40 watt bulb would never have turned off, to get the "fridge incubator" to temp and keep it there. I do however agree that it would be interesting to see what people are currently using for incubators. Most I would think would be using a plastic container in hot water cupboards, or fish tanks maybe? Also interesting to see the percentage of eggs incubated - to those hatched - to those dying in shell.
  22. Hey there The reptiles breed themselves, I just watch occasionally, hahaha I have less reptiles than I would love, like us all I think, but enough to keep me busy. I think a while back I posted some pics of some of my cages, but none recently I think. No worries about the stealing bit, would be interested to hear what your plans are for your enclosure.
  23. 3 it is then, the fridge idea wasn't a great success, when the power bill hits a $1000 for the month, you know something isn't working right...............lol
