Do you have another tank with a working heater in that you could take out and try in this tank? What sort of fish are in there? I left my heater off by mistake in winter and the tank got down to 18 and the fish were not looking too good. Just sat still on the bottom of the tank.

Damn, i've had a stick on temp gauge stop working before. Your heater should not stop if it is not up to temp. Have you got another one you could try? How are your fish?
