  1. Hey, I also have angels but mine are larger. Me, too, have had guppies. Started with three, down to one 8) and then that one (big female) got 'transferred' (netted from my tank, ran into his room and into his tank, no negative imact on anyone)to my brother's swordtail tank when I discovered my first batch of eggs. Now however, I feed my angels on mozzie larvae and the swordies have even had some . Please refer to my 'guppie breeding' thread in the beginners section
  2. I have no experience what so ever in daphnia, but my mozzie larvae look a little like tiny dragonflies with no wings. They swim backwards (away from the 'head' end) with a small 'twist' in each direction. / / \ \ / / If that helps to explain
  3. hey, I feed my angels little critters aswell and they love them. I found a plastic dish (they go under plants pots) outside which was full of mozzie larvae. My brother's three swordtails also didn't mind 8) .
  4. ok that sounds about right thanks again for all the help people!
  5. yeah angels love them  but the ones I have look a lot smoother. . . or is that just a close up?? and mine don't look nearly so evil
  6. hey just found a plastic dish of old water. What are the little wriggly things in there??
  7. Hi I think they should be finished very shortly. You might be able to tell how much longer by the female's belly. It should be quite flat aside from her ovipositor (a small brown triangle) if she is nearly finished. Also, one angel will move away while another hovers over the eggs, fanning them with a fin.
  8. ok thanks for all the advice everyone
  9. (i still haven't quite figured how to do it yet :-? ). how do you mean?? Im confused :-? ??
  10. Hey Probably disease or the shock of moving into another tank The new angels, were they bought from a tank with other fish with them? Maybe you could get in contact with whoever you bought them from and ask. Also, did you do the whole 'leave fish sitting in bag in new tank, add a little of new tank water, empty fish into new tank' thing?
  11. yea, well when i got my angels I also got 3 guppies. Yeah im down to one now
  12. ok thanks it was on the pots that i wanted them to lay on though I found them the hard way - I went to lift up the top pot and felt them there. freaked me out a bit.
  13. Can a plastic container outside filled with water in the sun, and you will have mossie larvae in no time thanks, and how long is no time???

  18. Hey, I was wondering, what would be the minimum requirments (tank size etc.) to bred guppies as a live food treat to get my angels 'in the mood' Thanks!
  19. Hey, i have a pair of breeding angels in a bare-bottomed tank with two pots for laying on. Last time they laid (ok the only time), the eggs were laid on the side closest to my heater. Any ideas as to why this is?? Cheers
