New convicts count: 7 & 70+ fry :lol: :lol: 23 were chuck in with the turtles about a month and a bit ago!! 7 out 23 still alive as of today, 2 managed to mate and produced 70+ fry... :lol: the pair became really aggressive, they are INDEED the terrorists in the tank....even my turtles are scared by them. :lol: :lol:

  4. You must be a really good carer to help him recover!! Mine turtles are just naughty, mess up all the plants/heater/filter and cover themselves with gravel pretending to be a rock... :lol:
  5. Do you have heaters in the pond/outside tanks? What do you do if your turtles race into the water the second they see you? Mine probably think I'm a predator!hahah :lol:

  11. Sorry I take back what I said earlier, my turtles now feed on them!!! I chuck in 23 convicts a couple of weeks ago and now only less than 10 left!!! hopefully the survivors can stick around longer!!!
  12. There're heaps of those in Asia, in fact, people actually farm them and kill for meat and other purposes....

As far as I know, they are supposed to be aggressive and curious, but all mine hide around the only log in the tank so well that I can barely see them...and there're 20 something of them in there (2-4cm) I thought it's because of my year-old turtles? but apparently the turtles are scared of them (guess they've never seen any fish before)... :lol: :lol:
  14. Surprisingly, my year-old turtles are scared by them, guess they've never seen anything alive and moving in their tank (except for the poor little crabs which they enjoyed).

  16. I definitely just leant a lot from snails!!! So apparently people should stop using the expression: "slow and dumb like a snail".... :lol:
  17. How the hell do they catch a fish?? when you guys say snails,you mean snails right?? they can't be any slower and they can't swim!! They basicly just live in a 2D world right (having to attach to somewhere all the time?? :roll:
  18. We just put 20 odd convicts in their tank yesterday, the turtles were scared!!!?? going no where near the fish..lol :lol: Now I'm quite confident to get them a pleco mate... :lol:
