And welcome.

HI Si,
Let me know if you need any plants
would ditch some of those fish but then it woudl be my tank...lol
Sumps are fine with planted tanks
great as a matter of fact.
You just need to be thinking differently
would go for all gear in sump and in line CO2
May want to use your HO lights on sump as a refuge and add baffles to decrease bubbles
Look into dwarf neon gouramis for a fish type
now you are going hi tech plant what bio type you looking at?

Chocolate Cichlids
C or H Temporalis
Absoultely fantastic wet pets

Sorry about the spelling
I know there were some of these guys brought in about 3-5 years ago up north and Craig and Shelly had some along with some Furcifer
HFF brought some in a month or so ago.
Just wondering if those who brought them in any of the 3 or more importantions have had any luck with these great little guys and if they would care to post or PM

H temporalis
????? :dunno: ?????

Hmmm in a tank that big you could look at Nicuragians or some of the smaller fish
Chocolates and the liek will get to big
You could look for sajica or a like species and that way you coudl keep a small group as these dont get too big really
Tank that size I would suggest would even be to small for festums/severums wouldnt it
anyway you are also looking for a marketable fish and some of these fish do not have that big a market

if you want fast live food then guppies or live bearers is way to go and you can on sell them as well
If you want to breed at around 20 then you may need to look for mozzie fish or wcmm something like that
no fish will breed in sub optimal conditions but you might be able to fluke it
Youwont need 1200 to breed wcmm just an old bath tub & feed heaps

Saw a violet fusion that woudl be close to ten years old...was $5000 or so when brought in as a strapping 12 cm fish with chip and cert
stunning fish and has colour all the way to the bottom scale
not as big or great as he could be as was negelected in his youth

Ok so what sort of tank do you have and how big is it
what filtration and temp is it running at
is it planted rocked or bare and how many and what types of fish do you have in it
what and how often are you feeding the tank
where are you getting your water from now and how often are you testing it?
Sorry for the 20 questions but will help us make a start
