I think i will go for a large piece of driftwood. Will the tannins stop the light getting to the plants?

Thanks for the answers. I think the driftwood sound like the best way right now. Im planning on keeping quite a few tetras and bolivian Rams and i have read they like PH level of 6-7.I have heard of peat being used for lowering PH Would this work?

I think a 100L hex tank should be suitable...But i dont really know anything about horses.

How can i adjust my PH level without changing the colour of the water? Its 7.6 From the tap and i want just below 7. Cheers

The 2foot 70L tank now only has 6neons 6glowlights and pair of BN and 3 small whiptails.

Dried insect larvae? Where do i get this from? Live mossie larvae no good enough?

Well im going to get a school of hatchets this weekend from animates as they will be supercheap and have them in my community tank for a good few months to fatten them up for later on. And il set setup the spawning tanks for the Glowlights and Black widows.

They all look the same....But one has a crippled tail. So this would be bad to breed from right?

Just looked at them and it looks like i have 3 male,1 female normal glowlights and 1 male albino so not the greatest ratio. And 1 male 2 female head and tail light. How do you sex penguin tetras?

And breeding a Albino glowlight with a normal is a no-no right? I want more albinos but cant find a female.

What would you suggest as a easierfish to breed? I would like to breed another type of Tetra,any suggestions?

Yes thye have,not sure about in NZ though.Marbled are suposed to be the easiest, from what ive read anyway. Would be cool to breed though.

I have access to greenwater, liquifry,microworm,bbs and mossie larvae would this not be suitable

Has anyone done this? I would like to give it a go instead of the cardinals i was going to breed. What size tank should i use for the spawning and what species would be best to try?
