I find birdsnests to be one of the harder sps corals. If it truely is surviving then LPS will be fine in your tank.

Mine is sitting on about 10L per day for a 600L system with a small fan.

Anyone looking at your tank would never guess you have high nitrates Can you fill the denitrator and let the bacteria colonize?

He has just got a new de-nitratifier so I'm guessing it wont be a fair test.

I also found that it is faster to snap a couple of tips off to get the coral growing than to wait for it to convert a stagnant tip to a growing one. Got any before and after pics?
