umm yea...but i dont have huge (and many) tanks like you blue...HAHAHA yea that would be good but i wouldnt need that amount of water...the 200L would do me...and would be easier to sneak into a gap in the garage thanks **EVIL** :bounce:

hey ageing water overnight in buckets so i can do water changes of around 200L just isnt practicle, so... I thought that if i got one of these i could stick it out in the garage to store water. i would put a heater in it to get the temp up to the same as the tanks and i thought i would put an air pump in it to move the water round/airate it. I told sharn my idea and she said that a normal air pump wouldnt be able to do it and suggested a powerhead. so, after re-thinking, i have decided that i should put a powerhead in it, which i can then use to pump water out of it when i need it!!! im guessing a few people already have this setup, so, is there anything else that would be handy to use with it?? any comments on this idea?? thanks **EVIL** :bounce:

yea true but i only have baby bristlenose in it ATM...im not sure if they will use it as food...??!!?? in a month or so i have to move all of my fish out of the house anyway because we are getting our floors sanded and the polyurethane will kill them all so it is a good excuse to start it fresh...im just gunna leave it until then
-
they would be just the same as normal bristlenose...except golden HTH(prolly not) **EVIL**
-
any updated pics yet?? that tank is AWESOME!!!! **EVIL**

what are the dimensions of the 5 footer?? the other measurements must be pretty small for it to be only 200L. i have a 200L 4 foot tank which is (soon) going to have a 1200LPH external on it.this turns it over 6 times... for a 200L tank, Personally, i would go for a 1200LPH filter at least. I would just leave the other filter where it is... HTH **EVIL** :bounce:

o...lol silly me i only have a sponge filter in it ATM.... i will keep up the water changes and maybe stik another internal filter in it with the filter wool all over it... any other suggestions?? **EVIL**

I have a Breeding pair of bristlenoses and lots of BN babies and a couple apistos in it ATM but i cant see the back of the tank!!! i do lots of big water changes and it never leaves. i think i need ethyro....(woteva it is???) to get rid or it. what is the easiest way of ridding the tank of it??? i buy aquarium mix either from living waters or pick-a-pet. i then buy plasterers sand from Benchmart in Te Puke for about $5 a 25 kg bag. it just needs a GOOD wash first lol. im sure you could find plasterers sand over there somewhere. good lighting is the key, and maybe even Co2 if you want good luck **EVIL**

before i start... WARNING... this is a guide only, i have used dangerous-ish power tools in this and not everybody can do it. i take no responsibility for any injurys because of this post....hehe thanks, just dont wana get into any trouble ok i bought 4 different sized terracotta pots not long ago and i have made them all differently. i have put holes/doors in 3 and nothing in one. i will run you through what i did with pics. i used an angle grinder to do some of these holes. this hole i made by making a small cut-out on the bottom making a door... this one was made by using the angle grinder and cutting the top out this one was just sat into the tank sideways and this one, my favourite , was made by (accidently) dropping it onto the ground, hitting my foot first just a few different ideas for making doors in pots feel free to add your own pics of what you have done with your pots for your fishys... take care **EVIL**

ok i have an idea, how about we just drop it.here is not really the place to be slanging away at each other. whats done is done (even though it can be changed ). if anybody has a problem with one of the mods or another forum member than i think it should be delt with in another place, like PM's, instead of hijacking somebodys thread. good luck with whatever you end up putting into it mate!!! just keep it cool guys, we are all friends 8) 8) thankyou p.s. i hope i dont upset anybody by saying this but it is happening alot, please dont slang away at me now because i am trying to settle it. just my $2.10 **EVIL**

hey guys and/or girls i have a HOB filter running on one of my tanks but i accidently broke off the end of the intake. it is a peice with lots of little holes in it so big things cant get sucked into the filter like plants!!! i am going to silicone it back on but i need to know, Can silicone cure underwater??? it is aquarium safe but it says on it that it should cure and then be wiped over with water before being used. i cant let it cure because i need the filter back on the tank ASAP. can i just take the filter out and glue it and leave it for the 5 minutes until the "skin" forms and then chuck it back in?? my plants keep getting sucked into it and stopping the flow. thankyou **EVIL** :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

can we have some pics of your guys tanks setuip with them pleeeeeaaassseeee Awesome sounding filter **EVIL**

Golden algae eaters are just like the chinese algae eaters and are known to attack other fish and "suck" onto them. although i have had one in the past and not ad this problem. siamese algae eaters IMO are the best, they eat black algae which is a bonus because if you get it YOU DONT WANT IT!!! i suggest getting 2 or 3 SAE once you have your tank running properly. they like to be kept in groups. you will also need good lids as the siamese algae eaters are known for jumping. they will find any small gap and escape if they want too, BUT, i know people who have them in tanks without lids and they have never had any escape thats just my 2 cents, Good luck with the tank **EVIL**
