as much as i hate americans, the american flags aint that bad. anyway, im not sure if this is the right topic for this forum sction cause they look like live bearers, anyway, i saw a couple in the shop the other day and i read on the net that they eat algea.. does anyone know to what extent??

thanks rob! the tank i bought it from had no heater i dont think :-? alan, the roots (white) were exploding from the pot when i bought it, i didnt remove much of them when dividing the plants up ether. thank you alan!

hello all! i resently started another tank. i have some small dark gravel in there, its about 2 foot by 1 by 1... anyway i bought some random crypto from a local shop. It was potted and the plant had devided in the pot, so now there were about 8 plants in it. it was for 2$ so i thought why not(and what a bargin). this tank is gonna need alota plants cause its for dwarf cichlids. When i got home i divided the little plants into pairs- without damageing the roots too much! and i planted them in the places i wonted(i also got some star grass in there, )... a few days later i brought a pleco for my other tank cause there was a bit of algea on the glass(i have 3 tanks connected all together. so i thought, 1 pleco for them all!). anyway just as i was gonna start the water adaption prosses for him i saw that my rams had breed in the tank >_<. i didnt wont him in the tank so i put him in the new tank. the next day i found out that he been eating some of the crytpos. at least it looked that way. anyway i moved him back to the other tank cause by then my naughty rams had eating there eggs ( ) anyway, after that my cryptos never recoved, the lower leaves are now loosing ther couler and going all slimy... i got 4 x-rays in there and another pair of rams- these ones are egg eaters too. bad fishys! damn it i hope this problem dosent have some obvies answer>_<. the temps at round 25 and the pH is bout 6.5-6.8.
