  1. The PLC energises an output ( to turn ON the solenoid ) If the solenoid fails it will turn OFF your gravity feed of saltwater to the sump . Don't really think you have a major issue ( sump will only partially fill ) If you really concerned add some more ladder logic Just add a timer onto the sump limit switch ( known fill time plus say 3 minutes ) and use this to generate an alarm output ( sound a siren )
  2. probably needs to be fragged . send me one down via post

  12. you could try pulling it apart again . removed the needle pin wheel assembly .repacked the rubber bush assembly with vaseline and re-assemble . also rubber sponge under the pump could help . contact Deltec for some replacement bushes and damping kit .
  13. costing is dependant on which model you chose . for the basic model including the serial port adapter and reader & Fob about US $60 plus shipping ( very expensive for single items )
  14. http://www.maxim-ic.com/quick_view2.cfm/qv_pk/4379 no it's a little stainless steel module ( about the size of a ten cent piece ) setup required via PC , but then you just place the device whereever you want to measure.
  15. 16. I'm currently using Instant Ocean is it possible to use seawater for top up's etc.. or should I stick with what's working for me .
  17. yes, only a little juice per clove . still reckon it work's ( my regal tang had ich and it got better ) it come and goes ( twice so far ) maybe I'll get a rabbit foot as well . ps . all my fish eat the mysis shrimp soaked in garlic juice ( in fact they love it )
  18. Feed him garlic juice with his food ( every feeding time ) Use fresh Garlic clove ( mix with his food eg mysis shrimp ) it a miracle ( he can only get better now )
  19. Installation was acording to Aquaone instructions ( white filter- fine on bottom and then noodles and black filter - coarse on top ) I'm also running a Deltec skimmer fitted through the filter box - I've already removed the filter etc .. when I installed the skimmer - didn't notice any gunk ( just noodle dust ) . No problem with air bubbles etc.. I get them ocassionally when the skimmer's working ( just after feed time )
  20. I put the white on the bottom then the noodles and then the black on the top . I heard some people have put the noodles on the bottom then the white with the black on the top ( purely for ease of changing the filter wool out )
  21. I have to agree with Suphew . Cleaner shrimp will do the trick ( you need at least 2 ) works for me as well . make sure you feed that garlic juice ( all the time )
  22. Try getting a garlic clove ( fresh ) . crush the clove and use the juice only mix with mysis shrimp . soak it an hour or two before feeding . Worked with my Regal Tang ( cleaner shrimp also helped )
  23. I'm from the same area ( Pukekohe ) . I get all my water from my mates place at Puni ( bore water straight from the 3rd substrate level 80 ft down ) his place is about 100 metres away from the Waikato river .
  24. I'm actually running carbon at the moment . How often should I be replacing it ?
