leathers shrinking

Featured Replies

I have 2 yellow tonga, a yellow finger, a kenga(cant spell) and another red leather.

When my lights come on at 12 one of the tongas the yellow finger, the kenga leathers all shrink up for an hour or so then slowly open back up.

My tank is only 4 months old so nothings been in there that long would that be causing it, or are they all just adjusting to the tank? Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

i had same issues when i had heaps of softies, leathers would sometimes just shrink up, never worked out why as they always came back after a few days. tough little buggers.

Long as they are opening up again don't worry too much. After a few weeks they may adjust to the sudden light and stop doing it. However you could try reducing the light on them.

some of mine do the same, but always seem to come back within a few hours. heaps of corals seem to do similar things, maybe its just a cycle that they go through like us sleeping...
