Importing substrates???

Featured Replies

Can I just order say, JBL Manado from over seas and just import it straight into NZ or would I have to get an import permit and get it "treated" ?

If you are going to not answer my question and start rambling about "support you local", then please post your thoughts somewhere else. Thank You!

.

Have a look at this.

I too considered it but the cost of shipping such a heavy item made it cheaper to buy here. Unless it's something particularly special that we can't get here (ADA soil or aquascaping rocks), I really wouldn't bother.

I considered doing the same for fluorite and never even thought of permit etc.

For me it was also the weight issue that killed the idea.

Would be interesting to know though

According to link above it is ok as long as it does not contain organic matter and come in factory packed bags. So manado, fluorite etc should be fine

http://www.petutopia.petmart.co.nz/cart_product26781-1-2134.html?Title=767023%20JBL%20MANADO%205L just going to leave this here. Cheap enough here in nz an if you get a few bags (i brought 3 of this and 4 aquabasis plus which only $30 per 5l bag) they will give u free shipping. Not worth the hassle importing imo
