smidey
hi all, has anyone out there made their own "easy on the eye" or "non intrusive" spraybar for a canister filter? Did it work well? Any set backs? Smidey
sharn
perhaps make it clear or green to blend in with plants? or cause your backgrounds blue perhaps that colour to blend in? it probably wont be hard to make as long as you have the right diameter pipe
fishboi
most brand canister filter comes with spray bars so why would u need to make one?
alanmin4304
It does not have to be at the top and spray, it can be at the bottom hidden behind driftwood or plant or you could make one like a spray from a watering can (easier to hide). It only needs to disperse the force of return water.
smidey
hi fishboi, i want to make a non intrusive one as the units supplied are IMO ugly & would ruine the look of my tank. Wolud like to hide the spraybar so to keep a natural look Smidey
stompa
hi smidey..... just get one off a fluval there not a spray bar as such its like a spout on a watering can very easy to hide......just go to your LFS and get them to order you one ..... far less mucking around then having to make one..... Lucid
Hi There, The jebo filters come with a green spray bar and in my opinion are not that intrusive or offensive, but why not use tape or timber and put a "Clashing strip round your tank and situate the spray bar at the front of the tank or the back so that the water is just lapping at the top edge of it. it also makes a good indicator on when to top up if you have them at the top as the spray hitting the water surface causes bubbles. smidey
Thanks ballistic, I have a tank with a factory made hood, i could still mount it below the hood at the back which would be acceptable to me. I think it was a aqua one filter that i saw & didnt like. Thanks for the advise. http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g183/ ... 9cb488.jpg
