Foxglove
Hi Dave, the only place that has naturally occuring dolomite in New Zealand is Mt Burnett in Nelson/ Golden Bay area. So unless you visit Welly harbour you will have to find a landscaping place that sells it. Dolomite is a form of limestone (calcium magnesium carbonate). Other forms of limestone (minus the magnesium) will be okay and there are limestone quarries in the north island. Cheers, Foxglove

alanmin4304
It is mined in the Malvern Hills - at the back of Darfield but is crushed and sold as powder.
AMAZONIAN
Why not have a weekend in Nelson  Bring a trailer with you as the "Golden Bay Dolomite" (also Trade Name) from the Takaka Hill is suposed to be the best there is. Your local garden centre should be able to get it for you.
kiwijaydee
The place I was going to get dolomite from here doesn't have anymore, the last of the rocks went some time ago. Now all I can get is chip. :-? Fortunately, the person who got the LAST of the dolomite from there is gonna be pulling their tank apparent, so I will be buying them in a couple months. But I can't find a place in CHCH that has any more dolomite rocks.
AMAZONIAN
Mystic Phone Golden Bay Dolomite (03) 524 8356 and explain what you want. They may bag it and put it on a truck. That would be a very cheap option as TNL Ltd own the Dolomite Business and also the Trucks; which even go over to the North Island.
