Tsarmina
yesterday one of my CAE's jumped tried to jump out of my tank :-? lucky for me, i have a nice big piece of perspex in the way. not so lucky for the fish who hit it full force. any way, it was swimming around fine for the rest of the day. this evening it did it again, TWICE!! And once again it is swimming around fine. any ideas on as to why it may want to escape / jump to its death / become a cat treat?? unsure of tank parameters at present, but will get a test done tomorrow (must get myself a test kit  ) current temp is 23.5oC
Ira
It keeps jumping because that's what they do. Probably something startled it or it just wanted to go on an OE.
Caryl
I lost one once and couldn't find it anywhere. Searched in tank and on floor. Finally found it - I had a breeding trap floating in the tank with fry in it. It had a perspex lid. The CAE had leapt up onto the lid and dried out under the lights
