I've even seen green cardinal tetras which I don't see on the list. Para pet house usually has tetras that you can't find anywhere else. caserole Posted May 27, 2006 Report Share Posted May 27, 2006 The problem I found with having a large tetra tank is the quantity of fish you need to make it look good, it can be expencive. Faran Posted July 9, 2006 Report Share Posted July 9, 2006 Hi Tsar, I see conchus blues at Animates all the time and have run into Green Flames a few times as well. They, like Embers, are on the lists all the time. Sad to say that one of my friends bought out all the Embers from the Wai pet shop when they ordered them in but he'll probably breed some soon. They're TINY as they get to 1cm as adults. Glass bloodfin....can't recall where but have seen them around. As for how they will get along they're all tetras and unless tey get to 5cm+ you can expect them to be peaceful and enjoy groups of 6 to keep them happy. Tsarmina Posted July 9, 2006 Author Report Share Posted July 9, 2006 i have done some reading. out of the ones i have chosen, the biggest full grown size will be 5cm, the smallest (being the embers) at around 2cm. all of them like similar water conditions and are considered peaceful. the only ones which may become problematic would be the serpae being noted as fin nippers, though i haven't noticed any nipped fins in my tank, yet. wainui pets has the conchus, green flame and the bloodfins, and frequently get the embers. i will be getting a minimum of 6 of each to keep them happy. will also be keeping an eye out for some more black widows as i only have 2. Zev Posted July 9, 2006 Report Share Posted July 9, 2006 When you say Green Flame, are these the same as Green Fire, Aphyicharax rathbuni? If so, be careful when you select them, I have seen a lot of very 'crooked' ones lately with nasty bent spines. I have two, they coloured up really well when they settled into our tank, they were a bit washy when I first got them, but they had a bit of a long winded journey before we got them!
