TM
Wouldn't touch it. It's only 19mm glass so only has a 25% saftey margin over the tensile strength. It should be a minimum of 25mm for a 100% saftey margin and 33mm for the claimed OSH approval... It would be a disaster waiting to happen if it was filled right to the top. On tanks this big, you don't take chances. Any tiny defect in the glass with only 25% up your sleeve is asking for big trouble. Steel frame or not, it's just too close to the limit. Notice it's stated it has never been used... also depends on how well it has been made. Also what was the height you based this SF on. If it was used for a marine tank, most people would not fill it right to the top. If this was the case it should be fine, depending on what height it was filled to. My tank is made of 10mm glass, 1200x 750h x 900w. Has had water in it for years, no worries. But it is not filled to the top.
ghostface
why would you buy a tank like that and not fill it to the top? the inch or so headroom for the overflow would surely be inconsequential considering how much water would already be in there. someone put up the tank size - glass thickness chart pls!
