PENEJANE
Hey there. I have just breed my CT male betta with a normal veil tail female. When I first put them together they did just as you describe. Female showed all signs of being ready and the male would just chase her away. I then removed the male and put another male in and spawned them in a matter of hrs. She fattened up again so I put her with the CT again and the same happened but I thought I would stick it out and see what happens. That same day they spawned and were fine. I think it could also be that the female comes and inspects the nest and often destroys it and makes the male do it again. (Please correct me if I am wrong people) Personaly if you have conditioned them both and the female is nice and fat I would leave them together. Remove the female if she gets badly beaten up or when you feel that its time to remove her. I have heard that they can be together for up to 3-4 days untill they spawn. Hope you have better luck next time. I have found www.bettatalk.com to be a very good informative site. Cheers
