paulc57
Hi Everyone. Well I started about 1 year ago with 1 tank a Jebo r338 and about 5 fish, now I have 5 tanks and about 200 fish! I have sold over 100 fish and that helps cover the cost of the food and power etc. I was given a few fish like, Knife fish, kribs, lemon tetra's, gourami's, bristle's and some I am not sure what they are called. I have guppies and mollies also. I have Odessa barbs (love Them) whom I managed to breed 1 fry last year, but this year I have had great success and have managed to breed about 80. The Odessa is very entertaining on the go all the time. Oh I had one fish given to me that lived burried in the sand but can't remember the name of it (deceased now). I look forward to being a part of this forum. Thanks Paul

mustcooktea
Welcome along! You seem to have jumped into the hobby headfirst. I'm sure if you are able to post pictures of your 'unknown' fish there will be someone here that can help with names. MCT
Caryl
Welcome to The Fishroom. What is it with all these Pauls who keep fish? 8) I do believe some are trying to start a club in Tauranga.
Alan
OK Paul so you are from Tauranga. Would you like to put that into the "location" box in your profile for other posts that you may put up, for reference?? Welcome aboard, I too have just had a couple of spawnings of Odessas. I was really chuffed. All you Western BaY people, why don't you nominate, or offer, one of your group to correlate your names and contacts, and we may be able to get the ball rolling again in Tauranga with a fish club affiliated to the FNZAS as there use to be. We could really try and get it in before June would be kewl. Alan

paulc57
Hi everyone again and thanks for the posative replys. I see there are many here from good old Tauranga so why is there not a club? How does one set up a club? Perhaps this could be achieved through cooperation amongst us. Caryl
I think I should make a sticky about this subject somewhere! To start a club, decide on a time and place for a meeting then put up posters everywhere - libraries, malls, vets, schools, and public notice board you can find. If you have a local paper, get them to interview you about wanting to start a club in the area and make sure the meeting details and a contact name and number are included. Have meeting and go from there.

paulc57
Hi Luke. I have been selling live breeders as thats I guess been part of why I started gaining more tanks. I also have a pond and have rescued 100's of goldfish fry but have lost many in my tanks (dinner for others I suspect) You see I moved to this house, this house had a pond, the pond had no fish but lots of mossie's, so I buy 4 goldfish, the goldfish have babies and thats what got me thinking to buy a tank. I buy a tank and buy tropicals. Paul
