showtime
I put a couple of co2 into my 4 ft tank a couple of weeks ago, and last night changed the position of the fluval spray bars so they are now beneath the water level. I've noticed a lot of bubbles in a corner accumulating from the co2 difuser. So many that it's starting to froth. Is this normal? The fish are acting normally. suphew
No this isn't normal, are you using yeast CO2? Maybe your mixture is wrong.
Ira
I tend to doubt the bubbles are from CO2, they should dissolve pretty quickly. If you have a very dirty tank though proteins would stick to the surface of the water and any bubbles, usually just normal air bubbles, and you'd end up with foam like that. One of my tanks that's very heavily fed is like that.
Faran
Would you happen to have a gourami, betta or other bubble-nest builder hanging around the area? Just a thought...
showtime
I do have a dwarf gourami hanging around. I noticed it last night and is still about now. I've found a nest in a fish book now it that's just like that. What's chances have any fry got in a community tank. My other tank's full of week old guppies!! Ira
I do have a dwarf gourami hanging around....What's chances have any fry got in a community tank. If you only have "A" dwarf gourami, chances are pretty small I'd say.

Alan
Maybe it's the air in China that causes that. Alan 104 ps, Oh! You're not in China, well how did I know?? Al
sharn
lol, dont worry about alan, hes the 'put your location in your profile police' if you could chuck it in im sure he would be tickled pink and then locals can help ya out etc maybe someone could even come round and check out your mystery bubbles
showtime
I have 2 dwarf gouramis, but just 1 of them hangs around the bubbles. If he joins to the other one, he quickly bolts back in no time
Faran
It sounds like the movement of the spray bar below the surface probably left the water surface with little to no agitation and he may have decided it's time to have a go if you have a pair. Chances of the fry surviving are pretty slim but they can always TRY. Thing is, when dwarf gouramis spawn the fry are about the size of this - . - so trying to save them is pretty hard. Try giving them their own tank and see how it goes. So yeah, if it's a bubble nest there's no CO2 problem, obviously. Have you already turned off your CO2 to test if it's the cause? showtime
I have just disconnected the co2. I've noticed the bubbles aren't so much of a mass now, and are moving more along the edges. The gourami is still there thou.
