Caper
Hi all! Haven't been here all week...son in hospital. Much to my this morning I found what was left my very first platty, The Little One. I'm  to say that I didn't notice anything all week by the time I'd get home from hospital...all I wanted to do was sleep. I feel really bad that I did't pay more attention, I'd come home feed them watch for a few seconds (rare for me). I did a 25% water change, is there anything else I should do since it looked like the poor little guy was either half eaten or rotted by the time I noticed. Is doing a water change sufficient? Thanks all...and to The Little One...sorry I let you down
jude
Sorry about the platy Caper. It sounds like you have done enough to protect the water quality though. Is your son OK now? Cheers Jude
Pegasus
Hi Caper.. Missed you Your family is the most important thing here.. and fish are replaceable.. so get your son back on his feet and once he is well again.. take him down the LFS and get another couple of Platies or something. Take care now Bill.
Caper
Thanks Jude & Pegasus My son was discharged today :bounce: :bounce: Starting today, he's allowed to eat soft food...before he was only on clear liquids! Oh...yes, family is always more important! But, I felt bad that I didn't notice anything wrong with my fishy. Thanks again

LYNDYLOO
Hi Caper, Really, sorry to hear about the loss of your wee Platty , Even more sorry to hear that your Wee Boy has been in Hospital, Sometimes other things take priority over our Fishies and sometimes we have no control over that, so dont be to hard on yourself, the main thing is that your Son gets better soon. Caper
Thanks all My "wee" son is 27... ...but it's like I always tell them...no matter how old you get...you'll always be my baby He's having a test done tomorrow. "The Little One" was one of my very first fishies, so I felt really bad. Oh my...it is 1 year this month since I started this wonderful hobby!!! Caryl
My son is 23 and hates me referring to him as 'my baby' so I do it as often as possible
Caper
referring to him as 'my baby' so I do it as often as possible Don't you just love it    When Craig's son was born and in the NICU, I said to him, "you know how worried you are now....it doesn't go away when he's 27"!
