alextret
I'm confused about WCMM that I have in a tank outside. They seem to be quite uninterested in flake food (which is all I have to offer). They do pick some flakes as they go down, but very half-heartily, and most of the flakes remain uneaten. They do not look particularly unhappy, though. In fact, they look as if they have some other source of food, which is better than flakes. I have no idea, what could it be (if it is the case). They were in the tank for about 3 weeks and bred once. Should I just leave them to their own devices, and not give them any food at all? sharn
maybe you have mozzie larvae or dahpnia or something like that in there?
alanmin4304
I gave some to friend who had a couple of half wine barrels with lillies that were cultivating mossies. They have been there about four months and have never been fed. They are doing so well on natural food they are breeding like mad. You will be surprised what breeds in an outside pond. I started a daphnia culture and it also now has heaps of mossie larvae and blood worms. My killies love it.
Caryl
If they are outside they will get insects and stuff falling in their container. I do not feed my pond fishes at all.
Wok
My WCMM really love white worms. they seem to breed quite profusively when they are fed white worms. Then again outside I just give my WCMM some flake now and then.. otherwise let them find their own food
SilverBlade86
Thats the EXACT problem I have Alex. They are in an outside tank, and they absolutely REFUSE to eat flake foods. I've stopped feeding them for 3 days and then relented and gave them some but they just snubbed me off. Ungrateful fellas.
alanmin4304
Would you eat cold spinach if you were surounded by chocolate?
