sharn
hey guys getting a new external, i can either get the via aqua 650 or the 1200lph aqua one... they cost around the same just wondering which one is better quality? i dont want a filter that leaks!!! ta
Luke*
I think the only difference is that Via Aqua rebranded as Aqua One. The design is different too so if you want newer go Aqua One. Check the litreage/gallonage / hour for output vs price
sharn
200lph extra for $10 (the aqua one, 1200lph) id love a fluval or eheim but finances will not allow at this stage :-?
monaro1
aqua one is the same as via aqua, the parts are interchangeable. i have both but 1200 is still better than 1000. what size tank are you putting it in. other brands to look at are jeabo and attman i have a jeabo and it works very well 1200lt/h with 4 baskets and primer they are cheep $130.00,been going for about a year now with no problems good luck on your choice
sharn
the tanks a 230L soon to be discus tank (like 5 months or something, theyre only babies). and i had been advised to get the 1200L because i can turn it down if i need to and they dont mind water flow? i run atman internals on one of my other tanks, like em, might look into the canisters. will look into the jebo too, where did you get it for that price? so many choices!!! thanks monaro
monaro1
have a look herehttp://www.deepblueaquarium.co.nz/filter.htm
petplanet
If you get one, check the flow rate. Some do have a problem. I have two going back that are meant to pump 700 l/h. They only manage about 430 l/h with all the media taken out.
Tanksman
Well the lesson for me is stop taking products at face value. Thats a shocker. How many people would assume that the product does what it says. Just looking at the flow is no good either its too hard to judge for an amateur. Time to start testing my filters - Gee I only have to do this 6 times
