Devon Posted January 14, 2006 Report Share Posted January 14, 2006 I went shopping today and got a pair of betta's for like $25 or something. The males blue and heaps of other colours to. Female is duller but still has lots of blue in her too. I was wondering Why the female is so fat??? Shes like 4-5cm. Also when ever the male see's her he will flare his gills then chase her around untill she hides in the plants. anyone no whats this about? mistymu05 Posted January 23, 2006 Report Share Posted January 23, 2006 could be that shes holding eggs or perhaps she is a fatty or there could be something wrong with her medically..... as to her hiding in the plants from the boy you need to get them accustomed to each other ie put the boy in a jar so that she can approach him without him chasing her for a "quickie".....some females take time to warm up to the males and sometimes they just dont click.....
