Fatman
I shifted a silver shark into another tank, he was fine thismorning but when i came home tonight he had one eye bulging slightly and the other not as bad, I proberly feel he has run himself very hard and fast into the side of the tank and given himself a very bad headache, hopefully he will recover. My question is, does popeye become visable after a short time, 8 hours, or would my theory about hitting the glass be more likley, he does seem to dash about madley and iI have seen him hit the tank side quite hard. Caryl
Bearing in mind I have never had a fish develop popeye, my disease book seems to indicate it comes on more slowly than that so I would hazard a guess your fish damaged himself. Hopefully someone else may be able to offer you something more definite. If he is dashing about like that keep a close eye (no pun intended) on secondary infections. peety
One of my fish had what I guess was popeye.... it took ages, the eye goes cloudy first then swells. Is the water OK in the new tank ? Popeye can be brought on by poor water conds....
Ira
I'd say a lot more likely he smacked into something. Silver sharks are pretty jumpy little guys. Especially if you only have one instead of a school like they prefer and in a smaller tank.
