sancti_hag
Hi, I have just recently stumbled across this site, and am looking forward to having knowledgeable people to ask my stupid questions to. We currently have 2 tanks - an 100l tank that houses our gourami's, neons, red eye's, x-ray's, CAE and our betta. We also have a 38l cold-water tank for our goldfish. We are getting a new tank at xmas (3 ft) for our goldfish, and will be rehoming the betta into the 38l tank with some girlies we are going to purchase for him. I look forward to sharing experiences with everyone Alex
mustcooktea
Hi Alex and welcome to the site. You goldfish will love the extra space of a larger tank. How many do you have? You will find lots of information on Bettas too. My son is planning to get one once his tank is set up next year. I think you may have trouble putting females in the tank with him except for short periods for breeding particularly in a tank that size but others can advise you there. Look forward to hearing more from you. MCT
sancti_hag
I was told that you could have as many girls in with the male as you want, as long as you don't have 2 males in together. And i forgot to say we have 6 goldfish - 3 fantails, a blackmoor, a shubunkin and a comet - hence us needing a bigger tank to house them and they are gonna grow too big for this one very quickly I feel! I will post pics of all tanks when they are set up

HummingBird
Having multipule females with a male is fine Alex, what you've been told is correct.

Faran
It's great to have another local join the club! 2 tanks going on 3.... sounds like us about 5 months ago. There's just sooo many fish and so little wall space, right?!?! Well, since no one else has mentioned it there's a local fish club called KMAC that you can join and will really help you with the hobby. I've met SOOOO many great locals through there and the help and assistance they've given... well, it's amazing really. Oh, and you can get a 10% discount at pretty much all the Local Fish Shops aside from one corporate chain. If you need anything to help set up your new tank (plants, fish, etc) just ask in the Private Trade and Exchange and see if you get any bites! Again, welcome to the site and we hope your stay is a pleasurable one!
