hi all,what do you guys do when you have to put a sick fish down,most shops here in ch ch suggest the freezer other sites suggest severing the spinal cord or a blow to the head, whats your thoughts.

Whack them on the head. Putting them in the freezer can actually be a very slow and painful death as the ice crystals build up.

The best way is to bash the fish over the head and make the death as quick as possible. I have discussed freezing as an option in the past, but now feel that it has been proven to be unnecessarily painful for the fish.
