usually a 40-50% change every 2 weeks, or when it looks like it needs it.

had a pair for 3 years now no probs, got them in a community tank with clown loaches, rams, silver shark, red tailed shark, etc, glutens at feeding time, the only thing they poke about at is a rather large plecy, still whenever anyone comes round it's always the 1st fish to get mentioned.

how do you guy's go about this, away for 2 1/2 weeks, having water and gravel cleaned after 10 days, wouild the neighbour be ok feeding every second day, or the lfs sugested a food block, community tank 230l, thanks martin.

looks like my 2nd one in 3 years is on the blink, only comes on when i turn it up to its highest setting, am using a 300w tronic, so what is an ave life span.

like those ones from a fishing tackle shop, sick of all my plants being uprooted, or do you guys use something else.

i use a gravel syphon with 3 foot of hose pipe which goes directly outside to the drain, and a small on/off lever if any fish decide to swim up the syphon, had no probs in 3 years.

wales, cant understand why it cost me $60 less than quoted at a shop here in ch ch. took 9 days to get here for the grand total of $102.35. and that included $26 postage, can certainly recomend john baker at aquatics online.

seen fluval+4's range from $117-$138, in ch ch i find redwood aq have good prices, pet world can be pretty pricey as is animates.

sounds like itch, looks like small grains of salt over the body, try white spot cure or malachite green.

someone selling one locally, new unused 300w, $40 sound a good buy??? l just looking at getting one as a spare. thanks martin. p.s. or i couild by another 300w tronic at $76.

will be an ongoing thing not just for the 9 days, tank is well stocked community, so probably wouildn't leave them that long without feeding, thanks all for the comments.

anyone use these, going away for 9 days in jan so am looking at purchasing one, from what i've read is the eheim the best one was quoted $150 from a lps in ch ch, thanks martin.

when removing the plastic tubes for cleaning accidently broke the thing that holds the bottom of the tube to the tray,dont really want to empty it all and change the tray, this happened about 9 months ago, the tube at the moment is held down through a rock, no probs in the tank though everything fine, shall i just leave it??? many thanks martin.

my rams still not eating after nearly 1 week in quarantine tank, how long do they normally take?????.

just noticed today, have 2 of them one is a lot darker than the other and not eating, seems to have small white dots on his head, every other fish is fine, did 30% water change last week, is this white spot???? what do you recomend. thanks martin.

first kept tropical fish back in 1986 in the u.k. finally got back into it when we built our house 2 1/2 years ago, i had a section framed out in the wall so you can see it both sides, and the tank weighed a ton, am trying to talk the missus into letting me set up a marine tank.
