Jettin
as for auckland im not sure. but this guy has got some good ones, cheap to if maybe someone sets up a group thing, ill be keen too http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/de-lig ... t9553.html
DiverJohn
Would sometiing like this do?? (the reflector come seperate to the batten fitting) I had a couple of those "arcadia remote units". T o mount the tubes i simply got a couple of 'flouro clips' and pop-rivited them on to the reflector.. on one either side, if you really needed to you could probably rivet another set of clips up the middle and add a 3rd tube!! These are the cheap reflectors (PM me to find out exactly how cheap!!) powder coated white, there is a more expensive version if you are into "shiney things" PM me if interested. Keep an eye on the commercial T&E over the next couple of days 8)
chimera
yeah something like that might just do - and yes, the shiney ones - a reflective surface provides an amazing amount of extra light
chimera
regarding http://www.delighting.com yes this is exactly what i need: now why the hell do they have to be sitting in a warehouse in singapore???!!!
reef
Any LFS should sell arcadia t5 reflectors
petplanet
Any LFS could but they are not cheap. What about reflective perspex?
Ira
You could also do something like a couple pieces of plywood covered with mylar film. Your lights would be hidden anyway, so it doesn't have to look pretty.
reef
what do you call expensive?? i think they are about $32 for a 4ft reflector. A bit expensive but at least you dont spend two weeks trying to find it,
chimera
needs to be lightweight, 4 foot long. need 4 of them. yeah, not cheap @ lfs, all they are are folded and polished pieces of aluminium, branded with "im a fish product so im expensive"
DiverJohn
now why the hell do they have to be sitting in a warehouse in singapore???!!! hazymranch
I'm in the process of building a new hood and I would be keen to add to the strength of a bulk purchase. I had planned to visit an aluminium shop here in Dunedin to see if thay had any raw sheet with a reflective side that could be cut and shaped. I will be watching this space... chimera
If u guys need the T5 reflectors, just let me know... sure do, I need 4 @ 4ft. not sure if its worth it adding shipping costs on from singapore though. pm me a price inclusive of shipping, if there are enough people wanting the same it maybe cost effective. Please email as per request in Comm' T&E. Thanks. DiverJohn, your commercial post says: 4ft Reflector $ 15.45 Polished Reflectors. 4foot $65+GST so that's $50+ just for polishing??? Brianemone
not sure on the price for the reflectors as im not getting any. ill contact DR evil for you though i loved typing that dr. evil
DiverJohn
Nice try Chim...No, it $50 to scrape the powder coating off, then polish!!  They are completly different design, and also the prices are a reflection (pardon the pun!) of commercial reality... I am guessing they are not used as much, there is less demand , they are not produced in quantities approaching the powder coated version. Also powder coat hides alot so you could probably get away with lower quality steel. NB: 'trade' on this item is $100+GST
chimera
got a pic?
reef
Maybe the arcadia reflectors sold at LFS are not that expensive then. Hollywood fishfarm sells slyvania t5s bulbs at a good price.
