Feelers
I was browsing through trademe and found this, http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 801361.htm it says its rated to 800L and its VERY cheap. I have a weirpro 2014 and that is only rated to 500L. I have heard that vortex's make skimmers more efficient but would this really be half as good again as my weipro? What do you guys think? Anyone tried one?
Pies
The SeaClone uses the 'vortex' technology, the link looks like the Jebo is a replica of the Sea Clone skimmer. Interesting to think that if you were going to copy a skimmer, you would think they would copy one that works. The only favorable thing i've EVER read about the seaclone is that they can be converted into Kalkstirers, so for the people who have brought them they wern't a complete waste of money. misnoma
I'll agree with that.. everything I've read about a SeaClone is that they're horribly crap
Ira
They may be crap but at least they're cheap.
skuzza
I have helped sort out a troubled reef tank with a seaclone. After weeks of trying to get the thing to work the owner finaly showed it the bin.The ultimate waste of money. petplanet
As the seller of the said skimmer, the 800 litres is taken off the box. I put one on my tank which was skimmerless for 5-6 months and it pulled out more crap than the Red Sea that was on it. Not that they are a good skimmer either. I am sure a $50 skimmer is better than no skimmer at all. At least, worst case, you get a powerhead with bonus skimming!
gregb
I have a Jebo & it works fine as long as you keep the air intake clean.
